Not to sound crass, but isn't everyone making cash from other peoples work? You were using other peoples strains, and from that came a winner. Your obviously missing my point. Rather than putting someone down for trying to give people something close to or if not better than the original because they can't get the original is doing a lot of people a favor, and it should be seen as a tribute to your strain. The original will eventually die away as most clone only strains do. Be proud someone is trying to re-create G.G. and hope the best for them.
yes we all are making money, I hope. lol . the point being with elev 8hey changed there story twice about how they made there seeds and weren't even close to representing gg4 but still called it gg4, if you want a good close gg4 seed try tony green's bx. its real, there's is not

Elev8 has been shit since they surfaced selling bogus beans, ive emailed them and they really are clueless... Dude told me he had been inbbreeding the cut for xxx generations and as far as I know they never had the cut!

Facts is several of us have talked to them and walked away with the same thoughts on them....
They have revised their bullshit a few times, the first shit they had up was funny as hell.... the fem bullshit they used to have up literally made me laugh.

Aren't they the ones that stole hammers pics or something too? lol...

Hello all. I am new to this site but very happy to have found it. I have been growing for about a year now, and although not an expert by any means, I've had some pretty good success. I like many others am hunting the real GG#4 or the least diluted version of it I can find. I found elev8 seeds states they have it, as well as Cinex which is another fave, but members here have warned against that seed company. I have also seen that the strain is clone only, which to me is fine. My question is where can I get it? I am not opposed to shelling out money for a legit clone. I'm definitely not interested in taking credit for another's hard work like I have seen claim certain wannabe breeders will do to others. I'm just trying to get myself a good mother plant that I can have as a mainstay of my garden. I'm not interested in crossing it or any of that, just making sure I always have a fave on hand to smoke.

They'd be nothing it like though with a single selfed, they need extensive back crossing.

from what i've been reading, s1's arent always exactly like the original clone-only so i'm not sure they'd be worth it to make. cant seem to find much info on how to stabilize them so it seems like the best way to go is to find a solid male plant to cross it with and then sift through the progeny for plants exhibiting whatever traits you are looking for in order to do create an IBL.
S1s arent the same but they're close...
Take a brand new deck of cards. Unopened & still in order from the factory.
This is your genetic code for your starting point.
Now shuffle those cards once...
This is your S1 that you've selected as the best.
Shuffle those cards again.
This is your S2 selected mother.
How many shuffles will it take to put the genetic code back in order such that it's the same as the starting mother?
I think this serves as a good example of genetic shuffling & how difficult it would be to actually reproduce a specific plants genetic code using selfing techniques.

I agree 100% and just like olderthanbefore, I have over 40+ years experience growing indoors and out, developed many of my own strains that I am certain would win Cannabis cups and the reason this is my first post and last is because all you youngsters are like most before you. You think your smarter, better and know more than your elders and anyone that believe that is an IDIOT!!!
I am certain there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people like olderthanbefore, myself and many others that didn't grow and develop strains to sell seeds, we did it for ourselves and our own little market. It was illegal than so nobody started a website or had any motivation to spread their creations.
Gorilla Glue is a perfect example of how an unbelievably awesome strain can come by accident, which is also how many believe OG Kush did. Someone found a seed in some good bud they bought, grew it and found something amazing. Believe me it was happening back in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's before it was legal and probably all the way back into the centuries.
Lab test and pictures are a joke! I can alter any test by manipulating the sample and even something as simple as the moisture content in the sample at the time of testing can greatly affect the result since all test are based on weight and nothing in the plant weights more than water. The best test is yourself and your friends as was stated before. If it does the job for me and my friends/patients I want it to, why should I go pay money to someone to test it? If you think the best looking bud is also the best, than by all means please continue to only smoke the best looking stuff so the people in the know will get the rest.
Here is a perfect example of why how what it looks like means nothing!!!!!! I'm sure you have seen all the high CBD strains out now. Charlette's Web in CO would make a whole lot of people think that, that it is something that is going to get them wicked high. WRONG!!!!
I could go on about genetics, breeding and how it basically impossible to duplicate a breed, just like it would be impossible to reproduce a puppy you created with two mutts that you had no idea what their genetic background is. Their are so many cannabis mutts(strains) out there that unless you are someone like Arjan from Greenhouse Sees that tours the world to acquire landrace strains and than spend years creating your own strains with pedigree's for each stage. EVERY great strain, OG Kush, Gorilla Glue, Bruce Banner, a 70's favorite from Alaska, the notorious Matanuska Thunder Fuck and whatever you want to add, most likely came from two mutts and impossible to duplicate PERIOD!!!
So all you non believers out there that think there are only a gifted few that can create an awesome creation, keep paying those breeders and people like olderthanbefore, me and many others.
Oh and since I know you are all going to attack this like every other site I have ever seen does and again why there aren't a lot of wise people like older and myself, not only have I grown for over 45 years, I grew up on a farm and have a masters degree in agriculture from one of the best universities for agriculture in the world, The Spartan's!!!! I know me and JW are not young kids. I'm 65 years old. cannabis has been in the family since I was in Diapers.. No one I know has any issue with anyone make $$ or making seeds with anything they wish. The problem is when someone makes some fake ass shit and uses the same name. All these people buying these fake seeds thinking there getting the same genetics that where used to make the Original cross when that's not even close to the truth. No one appreciates getting ripped off. When we try to point this out some get defensive like we are trying to attack them when in reality all we have done is let them know what they got is not legit. As for Charlotte's Web, I don't know anyone that think it would get you high. It was never created for that purpose. You would need to be a noob to think it would. There are a lot more people here with more experience then you think. I have a BS in electrical engineering. Worked at Intel for 20 years. Thinking you know who we are is just lame. We build our friendships with the online community through Communication and our work. If your not interested in doing that stay on your couch. .
