I can't lie, I am hoping nameless has a s1 fake, because that thing produces some hella cola's and makes me think its a little to sativa to be the real deal. However when he takes close ups the fucking shit looks spot on like glue. So I am going out on a limb putting my guess in the hat now, Nameless has the best s1 around and once he runs the verified cut we will all know, Question is how does it stand up on the smoke side of things.
Now the biggest question is if it is the s1, how does it make its way to everyone else. Lastly if it's not an s1 give me that damn recycled soil

^same, honestly. now i have a sure thing i hope its an s1 too. what if i cant get ye olde sure thing to get as big as what ive had? i cant imagine it being stronger than a verified cut but it smokes good as hell imo. i seriously almost pooped my pants a couple times the first month i was smoking it. mostly from laughing so hard but it made my legs kinda weak lol.
so yeah, the soil has alot to do with it, ill be running a batch of glue in the new scrumpdilly organico mix later this year so that will be interesting to see the difference. but i think its the beds more than the soil. and maybe just a pinch of skill.
a quick rundown of the story of my gg4 cut. it was obtained by a friend that does the facebook weed scene. he got it for me as a surprise gift. the person it was obtained from ran a seedbank, and its my understanding he mostly grows from seed. (duh) but hes apparently a stand up guy (arent we all?) and swore that it was a real deal gg4 cut. but he charged my buddy a buck sixty to get it to him. so theres that too.
as i said before alot of folks seem to agree its legit, but i dont see it in any gardens similar to mine (beds) so maybe its just that. also, what constitutes thread pollution these days? if my cut turns out to be s1, have i been cramping yalls style? lol im kidding obviously but yknow, wheres the line there? i guess if someone knows for sure they have a knockoff gg4 and they continue to post it in here it might be confusing to others. i can see that. there should be a "knockoff, fake and s1 glue" thread i guess, cause they sure are out there, and not all are totally without merit.

I hope you find out the info you're looking for with this new cut but I'm guessing there is enough legit cuts floating around here on the board to get you taken care of.

I don't know about the blue smoke test but a genotyping test will tell if its the real deal a 100 % and also tell if its a likely s1

I think the vast majority of folks that are growing GG4, myself included, don't have any real assurance that what they have is JW and MD's strain. Those that got it direct from them, they know. Those that got it direct from those that got it direct, they know. After that, it becomes less and less sure.
Credit to DS for saying early on he realized he didn't have the real deal. Unfortunate that it's happened to him twice.

That guy that invented the blue smoke test had a booth and paid for a decent sized banner letting everyone know about his invention. If that's not legit I don't know what is. Modern day prophet if you ask me.
I suppose genotyping would work also Grizz, but I would still check the smoke color. Pretty sure the genotyping people are trying to put the blue smoke dude out of business, cutthroat world.
Grizz, in that test, how much variance occurs in S1's compared to the original? I figured they would be looking at combinations of genetic markers. If so, I would think that S1's would have a significant overlap with the parent plant. Can they give an identity probability like they do with human dna testing, like: "from the blood under the victims fingernails, there's a 99.99998 percent chance that the perpetrator was the victim's husband" or whatever they say on those NCIS and Bones kind of crime shows?
How reproducible is the result for one strain?
When I first heard about genetic testing for plant strains, I figured that would be a better lab business to be in than the whole thc/cbd/terpene chromotography charade.
I would ask you to go to trubreed and ask your question, I cant remember all the tech talk but yes they can tell the difference between gg1 and gg4, both seeds came the original ones but have different indica sative % , I would think out of thousands of genetic markers one could tell if said plant is a s1 or a cross

2014 LA cup flowers where grown with the same 1.3ec or lower we always used..
There are literary thousands of GG#4 pictures to look at and compare to the cut anyone thinks is GG#4. Sure there can be some environmental variances but the Phenotype is not gonna change to a different Genotype.

so for me, it stacked about the same under both 1k hps and 630 cmh, the latter being slightly less dense where light was good, and a bit fluffy where shaded. anyway, i felt so bad my buddy had to pay for it i made sure he was taken care of a few times over. and now, real deal or not, its time to show a little love to mr international himself.

that same guy is also probably half the reason the Guerilla Glue company is coming after GG4 .... they had a big Guerilla Glue banner up on that same tent . i can't find the pic yet , but i will . but that pic was shown across half the world .
