Seeing pictures like these and then looking at my wimpy 5x5 garden and I realize I better learn quick and put my nose to the grindstone if I ever want to be able to support my family off cannabis. I have a TON of catching up to do and there are a lot of people with really big head starts. It is inspirational though, never thought weed would give me a boner but pictures like this get me excited for sure! One day....

Yeah it's not the size of the grow that matters, It's the effort put into it that counts. It can be a single cob in a small cabinet put together properly and grow executed well or a huge warehouse as long as the time, effort and attention to detail is adhered to the grow is quality none the less.

Here I got a photo of my first setup this photo is so old I can't believe its still around but I can bet after you see where I started you feel much better about your start. I think that jump start you were speaking about might already be yours you just didn't know it.

The specs, 175w mh 150w hps, 6 site emily's garden, 3 gallon bucket of soil. Closet size 2'x4' hows that for a humble start.

Feeling better about your jump start? :tiphat:

Oh the humble beginnings of a closet grow.

I was gifted a 1000w ballast from innvborder (my best friend) while I had seedlings growing in a base to a 100 gallon fish tank under CFLs. I gave him some sugar shack seeds and told him about icmag. Thanks to that 1k ballast I was liberated from my dealer in a short amount of time. And thanks to all the helpful people (b4 being one of those people especially) I was growing the dank in soil from my very first harvest no lie. Thanks again bro. Eventually I switched to coco and here I am today I'm not that bad at this craft most of the time 11-12 years later. Shit I lurked and learned all I could for over almost 2 years before making an account here.
Thanks to all those who made ME possible!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I definitely do appreciate what
I have too. Although I may have canopy envy -lol- even what I have will be plenty of good bud for me. As soon as I can handle one 5x5 easily Ill add another, no rush I just want to crush this space first before I move up. Edge to edge colas of perfectly grown cannabis that's the goal.

Yup that pretty much sums up what I really wanted to say but was too lazy to think up let alone type out. I feel like I have been lurking and reading for a LONG time and now I am finally growing, it's been a long time coming. I would not be doing it without the help of ICMag and the people here that's for sure. Can't wait to see where this high road will take me. To the clouds no doubt :smoke:

i built a plywood cab and jammed a 400 in it when i "really" started back in 09. lurked here for all of 07 made a noob account in 08. then after i got the hang of the cab i used the proceeds from a long year 1 to go from a 2br apartment to a 3br house and a 4x8 tent. then i added another tent... then another... fast forward a few more years to owning my first home and building out my current room, which is still in progress!
oh and here is a hot mess of glue at 57 days

I'm seeing some slight leaf edge curl on some of my fans. I have a DE lamp 3ft from the tops, I can't raise it any more. The pictures show the worst of it. None of the leaves have any yellowing and are all dark green. Some just look leathery and drier than the ones on the perimiter of the garden. Should I turn down the wattage on my light or let it ride? My room stays 75F/65RH day and night. Any input that can help would be greatly appreciated.

del i ran into serious canoeing under the 1k hps. started at about 4 weeks last round. i just kept blasting them, they finished great. the glue is definitely sensitive to light intensity. for example currently you cant really see any canoes under my 630s. i would blast them until they start to bleach on the tops. if that dosent start till week 8 id leave it. after a second look id say your set for the duration. just remember when you flipped and try not to go past that in the future. just my humble opinion as always!

Let 'em ride it out. From your flowers in your picture it looks like stretch is done anyways. They should be fine.

Cool, thanks for all the feedback guys. Those pics are from day 31 so stretch is definitely done. I will stop worrying about it for now and continue to monitor for signs of bleaching before making any adjustments.

fwiw, first legit attempt at growing (I got some gg4 from he who must not be named back in 2014 but was strongly 'encouraged' by the better half to get the plants the fuck out of the house immediately, so that one doesn't count).

Clone grow sourced from a local clone vendor, so accuracy of strain ID is undetermined. Coco in smart pots under a 630 cmh DE within a 5x5x7.75 tent. Used V+B throughout. Inspired by Dansbud, Aspenou812, Hammerhead, Starcrash and all the Glue heads here. The highest credit goes to the sources, JW and MD. Thanks everyone. My son thanks you even more, lol.

For the sharp of eye, I believe that's a hair from our cattle dog:
