after several years and so many peeps working w/it U would think there would be endorsed version of GG#4 in seed form that was authentic to the original...is it that hard to produce? i know i'd buy 'em in a heartbeat... whomever succeeds will make a lot of $

impossible to reproduce ! it came from a hermied mess . the best you could hope for was if someone reversed it & dropped it back onto GG4 ..... but even then you'd never know which genetic trait would show through . theres to many genes in the mix & the sour dubb is pretty dominant . its been showing up in alot of the S1's .

I figure you're talking about a developed GG4 seed line that "breeds true", meaning it gives offspring that closely match the parent plant.
Yeah, you'd think that kind of selection has to have been done, so it may be hard to concentrate the desired traits consistently or maybe doing so concentrates too many bad genes?
The traits being desired are numerous also so that may be part of the difficulty.
How much variation do you see in your C99 runs? I know from reading threads on Haze lines (Neville's, OTH, etc) that the expectation is that many of the seeds won't be winners, just that there will a Haze like winner in every pack or two.
I'm also surprised that artificial seeds using tissue culture techniques hasn't progressed to be used on a larger scale than it has. That approach would allow identical plants to be grown. Lots of promise but I'm sure there's stumbling blocks that prevent that kind of thing, so far at least.

yes close ..... but no cigar , sour bubble taste & effect still shows through because its such a dominant strain !
i found a good GG4 dominant pheno in my first BX , but it still has that SB flavor & effect in it .

making a stable gg4 seedline would require someone to do the tedious work of cubing which takes large amounts of space,a male plant with easy to recognize characteristics,and actual knowledge of breeding which is of course way more complicated than reversing a plant and chucking some pollen which is what "breeding" has been reduced to these days...not to say you cant come up with some dank assed varieties that way,but most "breeders" wouldnt know a punnet square if it smacked them upside the head!

this is what i was thinking...it's what Mr. Soul aka Rick Campanella did to create the original c99 way back then... three gens of cubing should do it? want my seed man
i think its more like 4-6 generations...
sweeter & more of a body stone after the initial kick in the head .
