to much supercropping will slow down the budset because they need time to heal from the breaks BTDT ! LST is a much better way to handle the stretch .

true. i popped em up to week one, think thats cutting it too close?
guess i was referring more to canopy control vs stretch suppression

if you do it before the budset starts ... then no , no real problems . but if you do it after the budset has started it will slow it down . but either way , snapping/ pinching the stems will need time to heal ! low stress training is much better for them , its no stress to the plants & no healing time needed .

Is GG#4 finicky?

Is GG#4 finicky?

mine newly flowering looks funny and my new cuts in the cloner look weak...everything else (all the other strains same environment same care are more robust and healthier)... even last run i could never get her 100% lush...:dunno:compared to the others

i've grown fond of her and do not want to lose her already...

Gonna take some lights out pics in a few days during harvest. Should get some good pics then. She really went all out this run. All the colas swole up really nice, even the lowers.

My initial impression is that she is a picky bitch. I don't think she clones very easily for starters. Veg was OK but flowering was a completely different matter.

I changed my mix this year with decidedly negative results on everything I grew. That said, the GG4 lagged behind everything in flower. Veg was OK, seems to be a viney, bushy plant to begin with but once in flower I began to notice that it seemed to lag everything else and then smaller individual branches began to wilt (3 so far) - hopefully no more as I will chop her in 2 weeks (65 days).

I figured it would take a run or two to get her figured out in optimal soil. I'm going back to basics on the mix and hopefully everything gets better including the GG4.

Not gonna give up on her after just one run, especially after seeing Dans and Aspens pics.

Ihave only cloned GG4 and a few OG's. Have had over 95% success with GG4 and averaged about 50% with OG's, cloned in rockwool.

She is very slow to flower, but makes up in later weeks.

Dans uses coco, which is much more inert than soil. It can get nutrient buildup, but not nearly as much as soil, and it can be flushed with half strength once in a while. It hates over feeding.
