yep it's Star's fault, he posted that monster looking so good that other's are afraid or embarrassed to show their's now

Go on, just shame me into it.

GG4's, gifted 12/9, put into rockwool that evening after treating them with what was probably useless mixed anti-fungal and pesticide spray I had left over from a previous treatment back in the Fall.

After a few days in the dome, some of the gg4 cubes got a green coating that I figured was algae. I mixed up a new batch of a fungicide and miticide, sprayed them and even dunked the cubes in the solution on 12/22. Yes, I know algae is not a fungus but...

They sputtered and stalled for a bit. Two of them never went any further and got culled. When I opened the cubes before tossing them to look at the clone stems, neither had any roots at all.

After a couple more days one of the remaining GG4's showed some roots so I put them all in 12 oz cups. I forgot to mark the date of up-potting. I'm pretty sure it was 12/24

Here is how they looked on 1/3/18:

I put them into 1/2 g pots on 1/4. They're looking pretty good, comparatively, and seem to have gotten their second wind

Looking good brother. I like the dual cup with the clear inside.
Made me think.. Does anyone else use a paper hole puncher to make the holes in the cups. I find it makes it much easier.

No I just use a knife and easily slice 3 lil slots out of the bottom. That clear cup is pretty sharp. I’m going to do that.

It's also probably a lot less toxic than what I have been doing, which is heating up the tip of a flat head screwdriver until it's red hot and then burning holes in as many cups as I can before it cools down too much.

Using the stove to heat the tips of the screwdrivers has the advantage of an exhaust fan to get rid of the noxious smoke. My kids hated the process so much (Dad!! you're wasting energy running the stove like that! Dad!! You're making the kitchen stink! Blah, blah) that, for Xmas, they bought me this electric Versa-tool thing to burn the holes instead. In the garage! The stove obviously has multiple burners, so when I'm in the groove, I have 3-4 screwdrivers heating and one in use. Like an assembly line.

I thought about going to Office Depot with a cup and trying the hole punches they had to see if it would work. I just never remembered to do it.

They're pretty functional. If you can get 12 oz clear cups, they fully fit inside of a 16 oz solo cup without touching the bottom but with th top right at the top of the outer cup. You can easily lift the cups up to check on root progression and the fluid runs out of the holes also made in the outer cup. No sitting in accumulated puddles in the tray or dish
