The more krunchy type a fellas always got weird approaches. They just create more confusion for themselves. Always do ten unnecessary practices. Cast spells and chant, talkin crazy shit like stretch is still veg. Lol just pokin at ya fellas but for real get with how it's really done.

To me, this is like the ec/ppm debate. Ec is the standard, ppm's vary company to company. Day one of 12/12 is always the same vs. pistil development varying depending on strain. Why depend on a variable to establish a timeline? Don't make no sense to this guy.

That's the problem with this community/movement! We need a defined set of parameters, a measuring stick, a standard. Jk

Flowering time is the amount of time the plant was on a flowering photoperiod. That's not something that's up for debate if you ask me...

I stopped dating plants I have grown a lot of. I can tell when there ready.

When I did I started counting the day they where put into flower.

As per above, many people consider the flowering period the time between bud formation and chop... Which in and of itself is completely subjective.

Not sure about krunchy... more of a redneck really... and I beg to differ on unnecessary practices.... I purchase no grow store items, composting is an extra step, but I do no chemistry, do not own litmus paper, nor have I checked PH in over a year and a half... I don't PPM... there's no rez I clean... I have predatory insects who handle my dirty work pest-wise... I'd bet chem growers do at least 10 separate practices that I would see as foolish, self defeating, and completely unnecessary, yet I'm more complex? I suppose thats correct in one sense... I use system complexity as an asset with over 15 separate predatory mite insect and arthropod releases this year alone... cover crops, varying sprays for IPM... but most of that is just opening the bottles on the next day delivered live insects... LOL not very complex compared to how I hear of some of the chem growers dealing with pests...

As far as timing... even easier, as I said I dont really time anything aside from going back to look at timestamps on uploaded photos... almost never... I do small plants 4-6 each at a time in large pots designed more for insects than plants.... in a perpetual with "hard mode" LOL sativas right next to indicas so to treat each individual as a single part of a collective in my eyes guarantees mediocrity... each girl, even phenos of the same strains are treated as individuals... each occupying their own time and space... I have seen and pointed out firsthand to how not even 2 cuts from the same mother are the same plants. How cut selection matters and not all cuts are equal. So I go by 60x for harvest
goo goo and ga ga and cooing coming from babies is cute... but it is not speech. Horseshoes can be close, Hand grenades can be close, but there are processes within the plant that do not happen immediately simply because you pressed a switch and turned off some light.... I dont count a plant as being in flower unless I see it beginning to make actual flowers... and I see that also as very simple. Round here... that IS how it's really done... but to each his own. It is not my place to explain to anyone in which manner they should, or should not, molest their own chicken....

I've also gotten purple from my glues... I seeded it and I'm sure it probably went a bit long because the seed was my focus... no temperatures were involved... and no times were recorded.

im not sure.. I had this issue when talking to multiple breeders.. were id get some that would say 12/12 is day 1.. and others say.. wait until the stretch is stopped.. and u got a few lil cotton ball looking buds.. and thats day 1..

and then . when I went from after stretch as day 1.. every strain ive grown.. has come out closer to the recommended flower time on the packs..

not sure if everyone goes by this..

I don't harvest by this.. I just like to keep shit planned.. if I know around what date to start looking at trichomes.. then it helps get the veg room up to speed.. and transplanted.. so they can go into flower right after.....

i think a scope is your best friend for harvesting.. even when i know how the strain looks wen done i use the scope.. a extra week changes things.. theres no argueing that.. look at the GG4.. if pulled earlier.. it smells and tastes diff then later.. also looks a lil diff.. not much . but still theres a difference.

I use that as well but there are some that think using them is also not a good way to harvest... What I find is people like to do things there way write or wrong doesn't matter. If they are happy with what they produce that's all that matters. I have my own ticks that I do. Does it help might, might not I like doing it. The plants seem to be happier for it.

I've seen ya pic. U are capt krunch haha u took that one to heart just fuckin with you I don't care how any one grows. I'm not smoking it. No lecture needed. Keep doin you Captain

Fwiw hormones are always present and triggered right away(no longer inhibited) with change in photo period. = flowering

Lets not get confused. Processes are happening whether or not you see it. Just science to back that up. No opinions

Now I'm not saying you're incorrect... I mean I'm not sure what constitutes a "krunchy type" LOL... I use a natural system, but I certainly have not spent today rubbing my body with crystals, dancing to Fleetwood Mac, writing poetry about rain drops or braiding my leg hair to form rope which I would used to construct dream catchers to sell at the local commune shop which rejects the concept of money and only accepts happy thoughts in exchange for goods...
and I am also not writing this using my laptop powered by karma or some smug sense of self-satisfaction as an alternative energy source.... LOL

Thanks alot for creating and maintaining this thread, its given me renewed hope and energy re: keeping the GG#4 cut I was gifted, she's a feisty one but is now in her third gen from rescue and ought to be calming down a bit.
I have almost given up on her a couple of times but after seeing those crazy resinous pics its reminded me why I drove over ten hours to rescue her lol.
Thanks all
