Sometimes you think you take a shortcut and find yourself making a detour for months or years... especially with STS...have you solved the problems? I guess the pollen sacs didn't open?

From Tynehead Tom...

Gorilla Bubble , in my case the BX2 and the BX4 are what I call "impress your friends weed" LOL because everyone who cracks a jar, handles a bud, and smokes a doob of the stuff I have, are extremely impressed. Gorilla Bubble falls into a category I like to call a full package "dessert weed" because it is such a soothing, satisfying experience with every toke. Full flavours of sour, sweet, dank goodness with a hint of skunky burning tire and anise..... and ya, she gives me forhead sweats and a good couch ride if I over indulge.

I had a different pheno of gorilla bubble bx2 before that gave me more in the way of pain relief but it was not as tasty as this girl.

BX4, I just chopped her down in the greenhouse and she has way fatter buds and is overall a better yielder but again.... I think the bx2 cut I have has that elite level nose, flavor, high and bag appeal that just makes everyone go "wow man what the fuck is this shit now?"

This run saw flowers so frosty, the green of the bud could barely be seen.......spectacular work by @Tonygreen

partly myself being less attentive than normal, but the reversal was only a partial success and threw the timing out,. Bubba is fairly reluctant to reverse so will try slightly stronger solution next time.

but yes, i have had success with CS but the spraying twice a day logistically difficult for me as i have kids etc :D
thought STS would be much easier but was naive to to think that it wouldn't need 'dialling in' a bit.

Down to one genotype of the gb bx2. Took forever, had to toss one due to hermies but got me a real winner in my keeper.
Last round she only had one container. Yeilded great, was a dream to trim. Great smells and strong high.
I took 4 cuttings pinched and topped em like crazy under flouros to stack nodes. Transfered them to my flower room in 7 g ppks on the 9th under 24/0 w de 10k bulbs.
Cleaned em all up this weekend, took all the weak stuff and everything under the net. Flipped to 18/6 til the end of the month to hopefully build up some hormones. They are always late to flower for me.
Heres a pic yesterday before lights went out 5ft x 11ft net
Should be a great return, been wanting to monocrop this strain for a long time

Mag hungry ladies

Mag hungry ladies

I’m going to order some BX4 seeds next week sometime.

My current grow of a couple relentless E Glue is about 15 days in flower, and while it’s drying I’m gonna start beans of GB in my newly built mom/clone/seedling box. Probably drop 4 seeds and pick 2 hopefully to run and make a mom. I really only have room to run 2 plants to any size unless I run all 4 if female in 3 gallon pots and keep them smallish and flip after a few weeks at most and take cuts to hunt for a keeper for next round and not be concerned about getting a full crop this time. I’m spanking new to the keeper mom and clone part. I have cuts of my current grow in the fridge and @ week 6 will root those and keep only the best of the two current ones (E Glue) after sampling, so it’s gonna get crowded in my new box. I’d like to have mom of a few different strains.

So anyway I want to reamend my soil. It’s served me well last several grows and up till now as well and I’m actually doing a side by side with one of them in Coast of Maine Stonington mix which is doing very nice so far.
Any suggestions on a specific amendment to add a little of to get ahead of the mag needs for these ladies? Everyone who has mastered GB comments how mag hungry it is. In the past I’m mostly water only but in 7-8 gallon grow bags which helps me be able to stay water only.

Id do some slurry tests if you have an ec reader. Id be more concerned about calcium. Good handful of gypsum and foliar with 1tsp per gallon of water is what i would do probably. Dont spray to run off. Just a good misting every few days in veg and through the stretch.

Oh I’m good on calcium/gypsum from following the slownickle thread. I always add almost a cup per cubic foot when re amending and maybe sprinkle a few spoonfuls on soil at flip. And I have Safer Grow Biomin calcium for folar and that’s about all I do extra but just up till second week of flower. Hope that’s in line with the experienced growers of this strain do. Thanks for the information.

Good day for me. Seeds inbound. Going to pop 5-6 and I have room for 4-5 in 3 gallon pots. Shortish veg and flip. This is a hunt for a keeper bonsai mom.

Think I fixed it, album was on private.
So last run I over fed the crap out of em. This pheno didnt get stinky til the very end. Dan had spoke about lowering feed at some point in this thread. So this run I am trying to run as low of ec as possible.
Had the res at 1.2 to 1.4 ec at beginning of flower. Been pretty steady at 1.0 after 1st 2 or 3 weeks. Started lowering input ec and switched from 1/.6 jacks/ calnit to 1/.5 a week ago. A few days ago I noticed signs of mag and or n deficiency so I put 5 gallons of 1.4 ec from my veg res in there. Hoping to clear up the def.
Up til this I have maintained a light green with no signs of deficiencies. Just dropped Too much N and mag I think with switching to 1/.6.
Good news is these girls are stinking like all get out, frosty as always, and stacking up very nicely. I feel like I know this strain fairly well now after a year of running it. It will def remain a staple in my garden for sure. Going to polinate her with a headbanger male here in the next couple runs to see what else I can dig up.
Ive got some trippy mutations this run, like buds growing out of fan leaves.

Kind of a trip. Never seen this in the few runs of her Ive had now. Maybe its the co2?

That is one hell of a canopy you got going, nice skills.

Not sure what is going on with the abnormal/distorted looking flowers.

Keep us up to date, would like to see how it finishes up.

Thanks man, its mostly genetics at play here. My only big worry is under the second net there is a shit ton of branches that didt make it and are laying on each other. Tying em up every night to keep from getting bud rot hopefully. Next time I will peobabpy clean her up even more before flower. Got 4 oscillating fans moving air around and keeping humidity around 50 so I guess Ill find out if I over filled my screen here in a month
