Several years ago I used to use botanicare pure blend pro series with ok results. But this many years later is there something significantly better?

General Hydroponics 3-part flora series has been around since 1976. Today its still top of the line and used more than any other fertilizer. It works very well. 😎

I've been using PBP grow for 10+ years, 3-2-4 . It's good stuff for veg...To be honest, if you are not locked into anything, Just get close to 3-2-4 will work fine

I have been told that using commercial soils is a No No for cannabis, such as Miracle Grow. I am a very new indoor grower. Could you please tell me why this is a NO NO. I live in a remote area near the Canadian border where supplies are limited. I have seedlings NOW that are ready for transplanting to larger pots with no soil prepared for this. What can I do ?

In Canada you have a lot of nature, i'm sure you will find something out there... :tree::biggrin: Or ask a neighbor/farmer/etc if the have a bit soil/compost!?

Cannabis is a tough plant and adapts to most common soils and can nearly grow everywhere outside.

Cannabis is an accumulator. This means you can give it excessive amounts of fertilizer and it "looks just fine." Meanwhile, the excessive nutrient load is being absorbed and bound tightly to new growth. These extra elements will be present at harvest, increase the heat of the smoke and the darkness of the ash, all while decreasing the overall terpenes and cannabinoids being produced. Looking just fine while it all happens. ;)

Most regularly available potting soils are designed to release nutrients for several months. They're also (most of the time) not that great of a nutrient profile for cannabis. When you're remote, it's best to start learning how to do all your gardening with local inputs. Things you can gather locally and regularly which work well for your tasks. This applies to everything and not just cannabis.

Shit's getting weird...
