good spots in Cali for school and to live?

Posted this in the wrong spot earlier... but I'm looking for some feedback on California cities for school. I'm a disabled vet who has been using marijuana to treat pain from a combat injury and ptsd, but had a great job that has kept me from making that move. The new version of the GI Bill that starts next August is to much to pass up, so since I'll be leaving the gig for more school anyway, I'm going to go ahead and make the move so I can feel like a patient instead of a criminal as well. I'm looking for areas that have a reasonable cost of living and are just decent places to live. The program I'm going for will be available at most universities, but I would appreciate multiple city rec's for me to look into. Thanks in advance guys!

I would look at places near Northridge and Santa monica if u wanna be close to the med clubs and good schools(Smc is very good school, don't know too much about northridge). The living isn't exaclty cheap(700-1200 for a decent 1 bedroom) but u won't really find anything cheaper in cali unless u wanna live in rural areas.

lfg-sup man? welcome to the state of cali. i am also a disabled vet with ptsd. i went to school in northern cali-college of the redwoods and humboldt state. both excellent schools. good schools are everywhere out here. access to clubs is better in northern cali then socal(LA and OC arent too bad. san diego sucks for the clubs)
--one thing i would like to point out for you, is the quality of veterans care, while never excellent, seems to be very good down here in san diego. we are a prime location for both navy and marine corp, and have a lot of both stay here after getting out of service, therefore, above average veteran programs and care. IMO. Good luck to ya wherever ya land brother......sub

Much appreciated guys. San Diego sounds great on the vet care side, and hopefully I won't have to rely on the clubs to long after getting there. San Diego State looks like a good school too. Take care guys, stay safe if anyone is in the way of the fires!

I'd put a vote in for Northridge too, it's a great school, and your right in the heart of the San Fernando Valley aka the MMJ capital of Socal. Good luck
