Here is a real question for my brothers in weed and in blood....

The united states does not allow hemp cultivation but in poland I understand its very common....

Since most hemp varieties are hermaphroditic how does this effect your outside growing???

Is it a big problem???

Hi , in Poland weed is illegal too . J think Polish people have tradition to break law , expecially stupid law hehe. We can't buy good weed in most of our country so we grow:]

J don't have problems with herms , last year J have about 2/100+ plants

Additionally, Poland has good conditions for grow hehe.Poland = Nature = this is it!
I agree with Plantator, that Polish ppl are rebelious, but expecially mass media want to do a stupid, naive mass :( .

Nope, we don't have problems with outdoor, exepct strains for hot climate :)

O, I forget to add that Polish ppl are connected together.

Hi Pepe Le Puw,
you need a permit to grow hemp in Poland. And although I'm not an expert in this subject I don't think hemp cultivation is very common here. In fact I've never seen a hemp field in my life (and I didn't spend all this years in the city either). So hermies and hemp no real problem for the outdoor grower.

Some data:
in 1928 29300ha of hemp were cultivated.
in the 60' it reached 30000 ha.
it declined in the early 90's and
in 2004 the cultivated area was just 900ha.

1 ha = 100 a = 10000 m² = 1 hm²
1 ha = 0,01 km²
1 acre = about 0.4ha

As you can see not much hemp is being cultivated since the fall of communism.
Probably more of illegal indoor acreage than outdoor fiber hemp acreage :D

When it comes to the herb, Poland can be very strict about enforcing its laws.

This forum is somewhat of an anomaly imo, because if you were to judge Poland's marijuana culture from an initial glance, you would think its WEAK. When it comes to to the average dealer and smoker around here, things can be pretty pathetic.

Then on the other hand, you have the icmag polish section. The most popular regional subforum on all of IC! and by a BIG margin, theres 23,000 posts in this section with the next biggest one only having 5,000!

This forum represents probably more of the underground marijuana culture in Poland, which is alive and thriving, thanks to intelligent and creative growers, who grow top shelf hydro and shares their knowledge with the community.

It is actually pretty strange. There is a large divide between the reefer classes in Poland. The low end to mid range street shit is pretty bad, and not just in terms of quality, but poor perceptions and misinformation is rampant.
Then on the other hand, you have a great knowledge base on sites like this, with polish growers using sophisticated methods of growing, harvesting and curing. I have had the pleasure of finding this out first hand thanks to a Polish grower, bogusik2 on this forum.

Theres a lot of talent and positive energy for the marijuana movement in Poland, but its concentrated within a small class of people in my opinion. Its reasonable to assume, based simply on the fact Poland is rapidly changing thanks to the new generation of people, that things will keep getting better for marijuana lovers here.

Yours Truly

The climate in the united states is terrible because of central us govt....

If the states were allowed to act seperately and legally then we would see greater change...

Unfortunately not only does the central govt think they should control our states but put heavy pressure on other govts....

The only way to win is to fight these opppressive laws......

I can live without booze.... but I need my doobies.....

Pepe, there is only few growers who read and write this forum. All the rest are cops who can not catch us :D

I think the climate at 45 degrees in Poland is milder than at 45 degrees in the US near the Canadian border. There are many strains that will flower properly outdoors in Poland. Judging from what people post on internet boards Maroc and Purple Power seem to be the most popular. You can check this thread and see what people plan for this year outdoors season: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=73527

And don't get me started on the political climate man... The US are not the only fucked up place in that regard. And cannabis laws not the only problem (in fact quite a marginal one).

As much as I would love to see prohibition end, I just don't think it's gonna happen. There is too much money involved in fighting this "war on drugs" for the government agencies employed to fight it. Even when state's make their own laws concerning it, i.e. cali's medical marijuana scene, the Federal agencies/DEA still go out of their way to make busts of LEGAL operations.

If you think about it logically, marijuana being illegal simply boggles the mind. Like so many other things, sure it needs to be used responsibly, but the ceaseless propaganda and misinformation is done because someone is getting rich cracking down on it. Law enforcement, the massive prison system, tobacco and alcohol industry, among many more, have way more influence in the political realm of politicians and law makers, than the common citizen who enjoys consuming a naturally occurring plant.

As much as I would like to think things are changing for the better, you have to face the facts and see that in America in particular, the crack down on herb is still going strong.
It is a shame, but I have taken steps to preserve my passion for the reefer even in a climate of intense scrutiny, and still enjoy it. Its possible our future could hold an even more aggressive campaign against marijuana, and for that we all need to be prepared.

Regards,
Dr.D

Hello Pepe Le Puw, welcome on IC Polish Board :)

You live near Canada, so it's pretty cold there. I think strains with Ruderalis genetics will be good to your climate. They are strong plants, resistant for temperature around 0*C degrees and few degrees above. Strains with autoflowering should be also good for your climate, you should only plant them when temperature is relatively high. Lowryder and Lowryder #2 grows in 60-70 days, Mighty Mite is popular in Canada, it's origin is Nepal (if I've properly remembered :) ).
Greetings, Yarcio

Thanks yarcio....

Let me say I have no intention of growing rudy..... it sort of is generally laughed at....

There are a few strains which do quite well here....

Generally our season is from may 20 to oct 10 give or take.....

Last year my brother grew some northern lights that matured just fine...

In the past Ive grown some great south american sativas that grew to 15 feet and got a few hairs by the time winter hit....

IM planning to put out revegged plants.... which will have a nice root system...

MIghty might would be a possibility....

Another canadian strain which may do well is island sweet skunk......

Thanks from across the pond.....

Polish people know how to get things done. We were taught to rely on ourselves, thus if our local hoodlums can not provide us with quality herb, we know what to do :D

Our culture of growing cannabis is relatively new. Even though there were huge fields of hemp in 60's and 70's, ony few people knew it could have been used for something different than making ropes. I suppose everything has blossomed during last few years. Thanks to people who opened first growshops and seedshops we are able to get top shelf equipment.

The climate helps a lot, warm summer and a quite long autumn makes growing outdoors a wonderful experience.

Are you growing LUI from Spice Of Life ? I have grown their Sweet Tooth#3 with great results

Peace
