What's new

Golden Tiger x Panama VS Panama x Haze

Hello ladies and gentlemen !!

As my previous growth with the Malawi x PCK will be ending this week-end , I'm starting new seeds today ... 😎

I know that many breeders are not suggesting to use the Jiffy pellets .... but the Jiffy-7C seems to be fine ... and for various organizational reasons, I chose to go with it again rather than plant right away in soil.

On the right, with the toothpick, the Golden Tiger x Panama .... and opposite, the Panama x Haze ... 3 of each ...

Ooooooooh what a catastropheeee !!!!!

Out of the 6 seeds, only 1 survived !!!

Let me explain :

So ... as you all know, we've had a fast and intense heat spike over northern europe ... and the room where the seeds were germinating got too hot ... like REALLY too hot ...
And while all the seeds had germinated succesfully ( yes, all ) ... in 2 hours, when I came back, the room was scorching hot and they were like dead/heavily stressed.

I tried to put them away from the heat ( but still around 25-26 degrees C and 80-90 % humidity ) but they didnt move anymore.

For the Panama Haze, 1 survived, while for the Golden tiger Panama, they all died in infancy ( you could see the white tip of a succesful germination on all of them ).
( and I had added 4 Super Malawi Haze without mentionning them here, as a growing "surprise" ... and 50 % died too ... wtf wtf wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwtttttttttttfffffff ... )

As a result, I had to add some seeds to optimize the tent uses ( and it's a very very expensive session already due to the heat shock ).

Now, from ACE seeds, I'll have 3 Panama Haze, 2 Golden Tiger Panama and 2 Super Malawi Haze ( 4 Super Silver Haze ( from Green House Seeds ) will be growing along the Super Malawi Haze because it's the "super" tent ... )

Pictures "soon" before they flip to flo ... ( I am sooooo dissapointed with the loss of all those seeds :comfort: ).

Very sorry to hear your Sprouts were casualties of the Heat. They're part of the garden in the Afterlife now.

May your next Seeds grow Twice as Strong!!

Well, from a growshop vendor point of view, the most not "suggestable" thing in that picture is Plagron but that's just me :p

I know that many breeders are not suggesting to use the Jiffy pellets .... but the Jiffy-7C seems to be fine ... and for various organizational reasons, I chose to go with it again rather than plant right away in soil.

I know BenoitV1984 that the best to start seed is plain water ... but I have the Plagron for ... 10 years maybe ? I use it at 0.1ml per liter ... so it's going to last :headbange

I'm not sure Hy-Pro is better ...

What I meant to say is Plagron are really beginners kind of products. Their soil is garbage and their inputs are water ^^ (concentration wise).

The heat probably dried out the soil it happened to me not long ago new germinations like it moist and warm, accidents happen at least the replacements are all good candidates.

Hi MedBelgUsr, sorry to hear about the loss of the seeds ... one must be careful with the temps and sun when germinating at this time of the year.
Anyway, glad you have enough seedlings to continue with the sativa indoor grow :) They should be more than enough for a good yield and to evaluate each cross.

All the best

*Update* actually, 75 % died .... so from the heat shock, 2 survived out of 10 ... :noway:

So, after some silence while the plants were growing out of their vegetative phases, I have now switched to flo and everything goes well.

The only strange symptom is one of the Panama x Haze showing some nutrient defficiency, while the 2 other from the same strain are having no issues. I have checked the roots and they dont seem to have issues .... let's hope it still gives quality and strong flowers.

Glad to see your sativa indoor garden already flowering MedBelgUsr and that at the end you have enough plants to fill up all the growing space
