What data ist your fundament for those hypotheses? Sounds like u made it up in your head. Is there something other than: less pollen and pollen less viable? Any data that shows correlation between synthetic herming and higher susceptibility to pathogens and cranky offspring? Please share. "Its what I observed" does not count ;)

I'm not writing a scientific article to submit for peer review. It's a cannabis forum, genius. Do your own research like everyone else. Which statement are you proving false? Where is your evidence it is false?

Did you take the blue acid? You aren't on campus right now.

You dont seem to know the basics of the scientific method. A hypothesis can be realistic or totally fantastical. It's not a contest to see who can be outperform edgar cayce in prediction. If you paid for your degree, you should be asking for your money back.

Many people seem to follow along with others blindly without thought. The OP has obviously put a lot of thought into this and MAY be providing valuable information. Just because he is swimming away from the school does not mean he is wrong. I found this to be very interesting and will do more research into it....

In particular, I will be reading up on short day and long day plants, this is new to me and I want to learn ! Thanks OP don't let anyone bother you here, thats just the way people are...

To the people slamming the OP, play nicely, or just leave the thread if it bothers you.
Thanks man, you have a great approach to life.

Hermies are “bad” if you are growing to make money. Nothing wrong with Smoking lightly seeded herbs.
Yeah, but you are also aware it is not sinsemilla and you have been smoking so much plant material your lungs hurt. If there ain't nothing else... why not you know? Logic.

You know how to formulate a hypothesis? Its based on facts and other trials. Otherwise you are just wild guessing. Thats what it seems with most u do. No this is not university, but you could, at least, try to mind the lowest basic pricinples. Otherwise its just broscience.

Dude, knowledge is always limited. No human is ever going to know everything about anything, but only barely scratch the surface with mans limited mind. We are about a few hundred years away fwd from medical science removing demons from your blood. You think we are a lot smarter now? If we can manage another 100 years without global suicide those people will look back at your "knowledge" and laugh. All hypothesis are fantasy, some more real than others.

Thats a pretty bad hypothesis. Its bettet than what you hypothized above, coz you gave valid examples, but still bad. You always talk about how bad everything is. How there is only stupidity in people buying growstuff and how people dont think. Then u open a topic named "Golden advice for New growers" and all u do is giving bro science. You are not helping, you are part od the problem. People like you brought us here. Super confident while talking bs and legitimizing it by "higher mind" and pseudo sciences. Please, if u cant stop it, at least dont be so arrogant about it. Peace out

Why are we using co2 graphs, 300 years out of date. This week global co2 is 425ppm. Last year, this week was 420ppm. 10 years ago, 400ppm. I have owned a co2 meter longer than this, and can confirm it agrees with these government figures.

Our plants get a season to grow and seed. It's a race, and they respond to many triggers.
A person running a marathon also has constraints. Imagine if with the ribbon in sight, we wacked them with roids and moved the ribbon a few more miles. Must we really end the race, just because the runner expected that. Or, could we keep them under the illusion, then change the rules to get more out of them.
I can point to many studies where longer days are suggested, not their gradual shortening. This isn't just an extra dli thing. It's about the plants age. It's getting the plant into peak bloom, but then lessening the need to finish.
I don't know of any study supporting the idea of mimicking the suns hours. Though I have seen forum users do this, and the idea fizzle out. Sun tracking timers cost very little now, and are used in street lighting applications. You give them the date and lat, and away they go. So people have been trying this for some years now. It's not heading towards peak anything though. They need light. It's our main method of telling them how old they are. Thus, what to be doing.

Exactly. If we copied the natural environment perfectly we’d have outdoor cannabis.

What we’re after is unnaturally large flowers that are super dense and higher in cannabinoids than normal.

Some interesting points there RU,
Maybe I can chip in with some info
selfing plants does not breed hermaphrodism into their filial generation or produce weaker offspring. At least not right away.
The process is called recombination and mutation and while part of a filial generation can absolutely carry hermie traits, this is not affected let alone induced by where the pollen is coming from, the same plant or a different male one. A plant prone to hermies will likely pass this trait on to some part of its progeny, selfing it is not triggering this process more or less than any other pollination.

The 12-5.5-1-5.5 schedule works, I have tried it myself, but are you sure it benefits the plants? I get the electricity saving aspect, but the schedule seems rather unnatural to me and I wonder if it really makes plants grow better when it is not found anywhere in nature on this planet?
I found my plants to develop a bit weird under this regimen.
