yea..i like fondue a lot..i make it myself though...it takes a good touch...expensive cheese makes it better (gruyere etc) but even a cheapo cheddar and heavy swiss is great....

some use fried filet mignon--dip it....along with deep frying the bread too...

I just took my wife to the melting pot last weekend for her birthday. We had a really great time. There is something so cool about sitting there for three hours + and eating several courses. We got the some special queso cheese fondue, which was really good, and we got the smores chocolate dessert which was really really good.

Have a great time Nevermind.

If anyone is interested in the Melting pot, check out their website for locations. I highly reccommend it. It is a little pricey, about $100 for 2 people, but you are there for over 3 hours and you get like 4 courses.

Ok first off Nikijad, Yes i am aware that you could go to the store and get the ingrediants and get more for less. That holds true with the majority of resurants ,which is why a coke costs over $1 in a resturant and you can get a 2 liter for the same price. However i wasnt to worried about the cost and to take my girl out and make her happy i would gladly overpay , I would home your man wouldnt take the cheap route and take you out once in a while as well. Dont always have to pinch pennnies.

anyway, the meal was great. It was about 3 hours long. we had a chedder cheese with lager and garlic fondue for starters. They give you several breads , apples, carrotts, celery and colliflower for dipping. Then next course is salad course. Next we got the entree, we got lobster , steak, pork, chicken , vegatable ravioli and cooked it in a ciitrusy carrribean style broth. Then desert which we had dark and whte chocolate with cheescake, brownies , strawberrys, bananas, pinapple and marshmallows with come sweet stuff on it for a crust. a few bottles of wine and it was a good night

Had a J of Sour slut waiting for me for after the meal , but had several prior to the meal. Good night

awesome Nevermind....sounds like a good time..well with all the fondue's is there any fondonts...like putting your fingers in to far...stay safe

Mr. Nevermind

It is considered a fondont to stick your fingers in. They give you forked skewers to dip with . It would hurt to use your fingers , molten cheese is no joke.

Yeah it was a great time. My girl really enjoyed it. Plus it was a surprise to her. She had never been there and i just called her and told her i would be picking her up from work and taking her somplace she wanted to go. So a nice surprise to her and a place she had mentioned was a good idea. Being spontanious and paying attention to what she says are keys to happy relations.

A $90 cheese dinner isn't cheap!

lmfao
LMAO

Do they have a seafood menu? Shrimp, crab and exotic mushrooms would taste killer off of a stick.

Isn't fondue just a gay name for shish-ka-bob? :headbange

hmm, yes fondue is very yummy, definitely. Long time I had any !

Anyone knows about "raclette". That's a nice cheese specialty.

You get slices of raclette cheese molten then pour it on boiled potatoes and assorted delicatessen. bwai ! mind blowing !

Bon Appétit Mr Nevermind !

Irie !

yes man, raclette, i have eaten them, as well as fondue... the raclette is actually based of eggs though, to the egg base you add cheese, potatos and veggies, even ham and cured meats, and cook it on this fondue type machine but different :D i am not a fan of it though.

ha this reminded me of a friend of mine. He is asian and makes these amazing satay sticks.. wont share how. Then one day a short person of about 5 years old said "aw wow meats on a stick"

it stuck. He is now the master of meats on a stick. :yummy:
