so now all you hear about is green this green that. These morons on television are acting like they JUST heard about all this shit. Organic foods, using less plastic , buying a hybrid. Its pathetic, i was watching the today show on TV and these scum ****ing assholes were talking about going green like it was some new strange alien technology. i cannot beleive the way all of a sudden everyone wants to go green and all of a sudden we give a **** about the polar ice caps and the ozone when allt his information was available years ago. everyones asking what they can do to make the world a better place, shouldnt it be the government or the manufacturers onus? why should we be left to fend for ourselves when the majority of pollution is on an industrial scale and theres really not much we as individuals can do. Basically what im saying is that its all bull shit, we ****ed mother eart really hard, matter of fact we gang banged her and pimped her out after we had our fill, and now mother nature is gonna get her revenge and i think thats awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! may the human bacteria be wiped off the face of the galaxy, we sooo desrve it.

yeah, the big networks are running days of environmentally aware programming...for 7 days...thats it, them it will be back to obesity causing, mind numbing drivel that is the modern excuse for "good" tv. all hail the 7 days of going green by the msm.

At first I was very pleased that people were taking notice and implementing changes in their lives to lower their carbon footprint, but then, like you, I realized that yeah... this is just a trend . People are acting like this is some sort of new and undiscovered area that they're trailblazing by asking for paper instead of plastic.

Even though it's a good thing that people are getting into it, I'm guessing it'll be a faded memory soon enough... like Members Only jackets.

Considering that conscious people have been "going green" for decades now, and that even barely conscious people are now catching up, I think it is a trend that will be around for a while...

i have mixed feelings. imo screw paper & plastic, take reusable canvas bags. use mass transit & your feet for local trips, reserving the car for extra large items & out of town journies. support local farmers... oh so many thoughts there. it may all be a trend, especially if we all convince ourselves that one person doesnt count.

At least until Mel Gibson or Oprah introduce some new wacky trend for sheeples to follow.

I used to have a magnet that looked like those magnets. It said "Support The Magnetic Ribbon Industry" And someone swiped it. ****ers.

I'd be glad for any celebrity to start some trend like riding a bike or even turning out the friggin lights when you aren't in the room. Cause not everything "green' these days HAS to cost "green", y'know? I don't care if people are following Oprah or if they really get it, as long as it makes some beneficial difference.

How 'bout those magnets that look like a belt instead of a ribbon, and say "Support Our Pants"? Love that one....

I know you guys will hate this (those if you who grow, anyway).. but what about drastically raising prices on electricity usage? That would be incentive for people to turn the lights off when they leave the room, for sure.

yea that would suck..i use floros to veg no only..im selling my 250w MH lamps and eventually wanna go to a 600w digital i always turn off my lights and i always do the little things taht i can as a person. Buti am guilty of certain things, mostly like my car i love my car, and i want to make modifications to the muffler exhuast and engine to make it faster, making it burn more gas and belching more carbon into the air.

zymos said it..."barely conscious people". Too many of us are TV addicts with no ambitions beyond the next piece of tail or the next meal. A whole world full of sheeple and mindless tools for someone to manipulate.

I've always been a fan of green. Got a toyota tacoma to burn less gas, changed all my house lights to fluoros, recycle at every chance.

It's not only good for the environment...it's good for the wallet. But that's just my :2cents:
