god damn MOLD

L

larry badiner

i transplanted my biggest plant (after finding out my second biggest had balls... dammit) into a 6 gal pot and saw some chaulky white residue on the tips of new foliage. i looked closer and found mold on the edges of some leaves. at first i thought they were trichromes but they came off, its blasted mold. i tried some high ph water (very high, about ph10+) i waited a while for the water to dry off and came back, and there was still mold on them. i sprayed them with ph6.5 water cause i was afraid of herms.

im thinking about buying serenade and spraying them good, does anyone else have any suggestions?

edit: also i cant afford a sulfur burner :/

They sell a 3-n-1 spray at wallyworld, fungicide may be the name, that has neem oil in it but the bottle states kills fungicide, pests and something else. Could get a 3n1 treatment, woohoo. May work, if I'm wrong hopefully someone will chime in and help ya out. Doesn't a high dose of ozone kill mold too? For a what the fu&k, you could wash them with a lite detergent soapy water, (worked on some I had just cut, never smelt, seen or tasted it after) rinse well and fan dry, maybe the mold will stay gone. Good luck.

checked my local home depot and lowes, they didnt have anything related to mold removal, so im gonna order serenade from planet natural, hopefully that'll work. i might swing by again to see if they have that 3-n-1 spray. even worse i read that serenade is more for prevention, and not for removal. i also heard it smells like shit lol. hopefully someone with more experience when it comes to mold will post so i can get some sleep tonight...

im sorta lucky that it came up this early, god knows what id do if it happened during flower or even worse, when i cracked open my cured buds only to find a big white shroom colony lol

I had the same problem due to a damn old style timer on my Controller bucket, that and I'm a pothead I guess. Anyway I sprayed mine with diluted Liquid Karma and it's all good now. It does make a fantastic foiler spray by the way.

hello larry

i see u have problems i too have been in your moldy shoes also. i would get serenade at walmart go to walmart.com to see what stores carry it. thats where i got mine. it doesnt kill mold it only controls it and if you use it during flowering your buds will taste of shit. that stuff smells like goat ass on a bad day.
dude watch your humidity and get a sulfer burner no doubt about it thats the 100% way to clear yourself of molds. ive had powder mold and black mold before becuz i didnt watch my temps and humidity.

Sulfer Burners are the best thing u can get. if you wanna pussy foot around and fuck up your plants then try that other bullshit. goodluck

if u can getta hold of some....try a product called "bud rot stop" it basically works by forcing the mold spores to germinate then kills them dead...it works as a prevention and will stop bud rot on an infected plant....about £20 for a 250 ml bottle....just mix it at a ml a litre into your feed.
Hope this helps a little.

i might check this out... a ml into the water im going to water the soil with? would it work as a foliar spray? ill go research that stuff but i got a way bigger problem now, although i do think i got rid of the mold

a day after i sprayed my plant down with super high ph'd water (10+...) the top shoots and some of the other leaves were turning brown, and the top of the main shoot has completely wilted. theres still a little bit of green left and hopefully it'll kick back. i figure the high ph'd water blocked off the nutrients so i watered it with some dr hornby's organic iguana juice veg and am currently hoping for the best. i took pictures but i cant find my digi cam usb cable so i dont have pics yet, but ill post another thread soon

thanks for your help guys

This is what the site says about the stuff larry.

"We've had quite a bit of feedback on Bud Rot Stop since its launch earlier this year and so far the results seem extremely favourable. With Summer upon us, now is the most likely time of year that you could fall victim to bud rot.

Early feedback seems to indicate that for maximum effectiveness, you should use Bud Rot Stop approximately three weeks into flowering (or when flowers start to form) and repeat every 7 days for 3-4 weeks. Spray just before your lights go off and turn off your fans to make sure that the product doesn't dry out."

If u want the web address just ask m8.

Hope this helps.

You did the right thing by getting the serenade, that stuff works fast and does a good job. I like it because its orgainic (omri listed) and is safe for use up to day of harvest (becareful with the flowers). It will take down a variety of molds and mildews.

i googled it and i was only able to find it in the uk, it'd probably cost me close to 45$ bucks to ship it to the states... you wouldnt happen to have a link to a us distrobuter that has it for like... 20 us dollars lol?

i read good things about serenade, and im really anxious to try it out... do you have first hand experience with serenade? was it about to get rid of all of the mold? im still in veg, probably 2 months into veg, do you think if i spray them down now i wont get infected later on in flowering?

i think i might just have to put more in the bank and go for that bud rot stop for a whopping 45 us bucks D:

thanks for all your help man but those exhange rates are killing me! i picked up some serenade today at walmart and i gave my plants a good spraying down, and ill see how things go. i talked to the lady at planetnatural.com over the phone and she said serenade worked for her, and id have to re-apply every 5-7 days, but i dont quite know if it'll work for me...

i checked ebay for bud rot stop... its at 35$, which is alot for me cause im broke lol. the serenade cost me about 10$, but if the sereade doesnt work i'll just stop eating out for a week and go for that bud rot stop, thanks for the tip man i really appreciate it (it'd be better if it wasnt so damn expensive! lol)

Man I found white powdery mildew on a cutting last nite.(female seeds white widow) Sorry to hear that no one has had a magic cure, I stopped in hoping someone had posted the great answer. I sprayed with the stuff I was talking about hoping for the best. I'll snap a pic of the bottle tonite and post it in your thread. If no mold returns over the next few days I'll post that too. I believe I'll be stopping and looking for the serenade stuff too. We fight the fight together.
Peace

Larry what are you temps and humidity?

Perhaps trying ewc tea/kelp folier spray.

Its been wierd weather out in the PNW-very cool and high humidty. Keeping my box humidty down has been a problem but the AC seems to handle it so far.

Also, keep good air circulation going around the plants is the advice I have read many times before.
