Hi folks..

Am I glad to have found this place.. Excellent source of info, some excellent grows and loving the coco thread… top job!!

I just made the leap from soil to coco and its been a very enjoyable learning curve but my plants are leggy as hell - due to my using soil nutes: duh!! Reading lots on the coco thread and finding out more every day. Its great to have somewhere to learn and share our experiences.

Anyway I have been and bought some Canna Coco A + B so its hopefully onwards and no more upwards from here. Also feeding Nitrozyme 2ml per ltr, Bud Boost 2ml per ltr. PK’ed the stretchy ones at 3rd week, will PK the other’s in the next few days. :

Here’s a pic: they are a mix of Herer, Blueberries : Stretchy ones (jh or BB) are at 42 days: and are the result of overcompensating for the N def. So possibly the nutes are a little late.. I dunno coco is all new to me.. The smaller one is POG and are fortnight behind so hoping the coco specific feed will make a big difference.

Feel free to offer advise.. But bear in mind I don’t have ph meter, temp or hum gauge -yar yar yar: don’t all shout at once!!.. I like to think of myself as a feely feely type grower - tend to look for signs from my plants rather than reading numbers on meters. And yeah the stretchy ones are screaming at me!!

Am hoping the stretch will stop and the buds will begin to fill out - will keep you updated.

Bests of buds to you..

Keep the green faith.

I don't have any of that stuff either...I would suggest you at least buy some FULL RANGE ph test strips , as the ph level is extremely important.

I'd love to see the pic, but I don' think it loaded:chin: ?

Good to see another one come over to the light side LOL....I had problems too but am getting a better handle on it everyday now. I'll be waiting for updates on this one.

 Welcome and nice plants, dont look like you need no meters lol!
I never measure anything except plant height, its mainly because I´m cheap though :D

Hi nandro, old peculiar, ono, and holy gong, .. - thanks for the heads up.. .yo VT - awesome thread you got running, you trail blazer you!!

Quick amendment to my above post - sorry .. I am such a twit - cant even add up my 7x table.. 5wks x 7 = 35 days, not 42 !! - so the situation is possibly within rescuing range.

Not much to update - added a cheap reflector (silver car windscreen reflector) and got the fan blowing on the light (gently rocks it and acts as cheap light mover). I have plants at different stages of growth - so I have the smaller ones stacked up on books -raises them off the floor and helps keep the heat in the root zone. Will update with pics soon.

Should probably add that I am growing under 400 hps.

thanks again for the interest..

welcome to the coco loco forum Miss Fit, nice to have a few female growers getting into the old coco too. i must say you seem to have done quite well considering you used a non specific nutrient, without meters, no less. so the coco a+b should be a treat, just use the same amount of each, keep it slightly below the recommended level to start with, your plants will soon let you know if the want more or less.

i posted your pics for you, if you need help posting pics let me know....

good to see you doing a thread on ICMag:)
it would have been interesting to see how the grow turned out with soil nutes-possibly interesting in a bad way tho-so, as gaius has said, i'm sure you did the right thing in getting the coco nutes.

look foward to seeing how the grow progresses

hi ..gee thanks gaiusmarius - my pics look great ..now..I posted them to gallery originally and although i saw them in the preview.. they disappeared after that..

Thanks too for the compliments - i will pass them on to my ladies. .. they also had feeds with nettle tea added while in veg and the soil nutes in bloom with added seaweed extract - this was shop bought but have been reading (I think on here) about collecting, drying and powdering kelp - hmmm interesting..not sure about the salt and if removal is possible though.

Hi cc eer  it hasnt taken me long to become a coco convert .. lighter.. drains.. dries...no freaking gnats..i could go on : )

Yo Eddie - yeah methinks the soil nutes experiment was becoming more of a height n stem contest.. hopefully the 5/6 wkers will put on a bit of weight now.

I added Pk in the 3rd wk. .. i have been tempted to add again ..thinking it may help correct stretch..but then it may make it worse.. Any thoughts gratefully received ..:0 :chin:

Ineteresting topic on the P/K and it's relationship and possible effect on stretch....can't wait to hear the input on that....
-I think the transition from soil to coco is more natural than hydro to coco....but...then again, for me...any transition is precarious :D
-What molasses would you suggest flushing with? And does it add flavor or and anything for plants in soil? I might try some in coco....
-Nice to see fellow coco convert happy with the switch
-Glad your pics gots posted....those plants are lookin good :respect:

Hi folks - thanks for looking in

Hi thc
VT - you got some excellent looking girls yourself ;)

Not much to update - they looking a little fatter and I did go for the extra shot of PK at 5wk - the herer will go easy 10wk so got plenty of time.

Am liking the coco A+B - runnin low on Bcuzz bloom booster, so am lookin around at the options for next purchase.

Couple of pics - one of the room and close up of the pog - shaping up nicely although they could have done with a little more veg time.

Also thought I would share my skinflint idea's with ya - I have the poor mans version of co2 - homebrew wine - made this week so nice n bubbly, orange and raisin - pumpin out lots of co2 and eventually I will have a lovely glass of wine to enjoy. :woohoo:

Another cheap but effective idea - giant foil platter - available from most pound shops or hardware store: cut hole in middle and fit around, in my case, 125 enviro - makes an excellent reflector. ;)

couple pics to show what I mean

thanks again for looking in
keep the green faith :yummy:

yo Missfit-
got the coco nutes then-good one
i recon the home made co2 is a good idea if you can get the ppm's high enough. I used to make it with bits of limestone and diluted ph down-it fizzes and the fizz is co2.

not sure about bloom boosters; the bcuzz booster has been recomended to me by good growers-but also getting v good feedback about the new Canna boost accelerator

plants look nice

That's ingenious :) I was once big on fancy, pricy gadgets....now, I like "cheap but effective" ideas...

hiya eddie - hope your not in the dog house for too much longer :sasmokin: ;) and yeah I think coco nutes was the way to go...

Hey vt - cheap n cheerful is my motto - although my bud boost has price sticker of 36 quid so I musta been rich when i bought that.!! :pointlaug

not much to update so I'll share some pics - did get the jh out for pics but they didnt come out - shame as they are the ones I could do with a bit of advices on - they still look leggy and I am hoping they are gonna gain a bit of weight now - the soil nutes made em grow huh..they still got plenty of time though - shame as me stash is running low :yoinks: the herer can probably go another 3wks at least.... so tis a fair wait.

the blueberries is smelling strong - lovely n fruity and the pog is giving off distinct smell - almost petrolish..n looking very promising..- herer is always a worry for me as she dont always gain the bud weight..any input would be welcome :chin:

I got 4 afghan#1 pot sharing - 2 to a pot, I cut the bottom off the pots they are in and half sunk em into big pots as they are grown from seed and not sexed yet - saves on space, as there isnt any, less medium and I can just pull em out if they turn out to be male...pic to show what i mean..

here#s the pics..

regards and thanks for the interest...

Hi folks  hello huff&puff

Its taking its time gaius :bat: but its hard to be glum when you looking at and smelling some glorious greenery :canabis:

time for a quick update - I went out n bought humidity thingy and temperature thing - so I became more knowledgeable about me rooms failings. Humidity was over 70 :yoinks: and temps diff was above 10 degrees. Managed to get humidity down to between 40 and 50 and an oil filled radiator is attemptin to alleviate the temp swing..

all's looking well - blueberries is at 50 days so added Ripen over the weekend.
Herer is at 55 days - lower buds look more sparkly than some of the top buds but in general I am happy with the bud size.
PoGold is at 40 days and is directly under the light most of the time.
Dropped back on nutes for all the girlies - giving em just filtered water: as me tap water ph is high at moment around 7 (only got fish tank ph test kit so can only accurately test clear water)

Afghans at about 2wks - already pulled one as balls were showing and put another one in its place - pot sharing - not ideal but lack of space and added bit of bonemeal towards the bottom of the pots - something I did in soil so will see how things go in coco. Kept the male in my cheap plastic greenhouse - got thoughts of collecting pollen but all new territory for me so only theory ...

Afghans were grown from seed - a fab seed swap with another Weed Warrior :joint: Power to the herb tenders :woohoo: - supposed to be a trippy high so lookin forward to seeing some buds on this. Taken 2 cuts off each so hopin to select a decent mum.

sorry bout lack of pics - but tis a real pain taking em out to get decent pics - will attempt at next watering :sasmokin:

thanks for the interest.. and for bearin wiv me.. not the most comprehensive grow diary ever - just me rambling on.. adding what bits i remember..stoners huh???

peace ..
