I have a rather open sort of grow cabinet in a rural place in the Midwest, and so little flying bugs and whatnot are almost always hanging around my plants. So far my plants are really beautiful and we're not having even the slightest problems with them(other than some root-bound seedlings). I have only lost one fan leaf this whole grow and its because I knocked it off. So far this is absurdly healthy.... but there's also an array of little bugs orbiting them. I have some S-Methoprene tablets (Amdro "Mosquito Bombs"), and I was considering removing a little chunk off of one and putting it in my spray bottle and then getting all the soil surface with it. Is this a good idea or do I wait to see if they get out of hand?
My mix is approximately as follows:
6 parts coir
4 parts vermiculite(large chunk)
4 parts perlite
2 parts worm castings
1 part peat
1 part assortment of lime, gypsum, silicon dioxide crystals(kitty litter crystals), and random leftover bits of Jobes and Espoma flowering fertilizers I needed to use up.
