i think they're plenty bushy enough , i'd just let them grow up from here . they'll get plenty more bushy in the stretch period & you don't want it to get outa control . BTDT & it ain't pretty lol

heres mine as they hit the net . the nets are at 36" & the plants going in were 2footers , they're at 9 days of flower now .

as you see . they still bush out alot during the stretch , the pics are from day 9 of flower & they're just breaking the net now . the next 2 weeks will be spreading them out & training the real bad stretchers under the net .

you haven't smoked GG4 yet ??? lol , your in for a treat !!! but ..... i hope your filters are up to the task !!! cuz this shit WREAKS !!!! it'll make your eyes water when trimming it its so strong .
& when smoked ...... don't plan on doing much afterwards !

i don't want to see something like this happen to you & you wind up with a ton of larf because the light couldn't penetrate the canopy !

they can over grow your set up quick if you let them grow out to much ! i'm just trying to give you the benefit of things that have already happened to me .
by putting them in smaller than that you think they should be , it will save you the headaches i've gone through ..

i'd much rather see this than that hot mess pictured above !!!! all nice top buds instead of a ton of larf that don't amount to shit .

Yea i'm in a holding pattern until Monday morning Dan, Hoping i have the tops for two Pounds. I just cant wait to smoke some..... I'll take some cuttings and get a couple of moms going so i can work on the next round..... I have every intention of doubling my setup for flowering two trays exc... the DN and SB are calling me but i want to do another round with the gg4 so i'll probably run the DN and gg4 in separate systems. the third round well who knows, Maybe a two tray run of the gb6..... Im thinking about the flip now. Thats new territory for me so im a little concerned.

Yes I did its working much better Dan the blue hose I use is prone to kinking so I have to find some hose that won't kink up. The pressure is good now it takes about 15 seconds to get runoff, it's not as fast with the larger holes but it's fine and the output has evened back out sence I found the kink , all 6 halos are within 2 ounces of each other.

Aspen, for those of us who hope to learn from and emulate you, what tubing were you using that is kinky? why did you go with that vs pvc to the ring?

Ona, I use the hydrofarm hydroponic tubing 1/2 inch, i wanted to be able to move the plants around and to position them where needed as they grow and it makes it easier to work with them, ya cant do that with pvc.

I asked because I read in a thread a few weeks ago where someone commented "why don't ppl use Pex instead of PVC for their drip/flood/etc irrigation set ups." It is a semi flexible tubing that is used as a replacement for copper in many plumbing settings.

I've never used it or even seen it so I don't know if its flexible enough to make the 90 degree turn like you have now but if you find yourself wandering HD or L's or local hardware store, maybe check it out to see if it could work for you. It sounds like it's flexible enough to enable moving stuff around but not so flexible as to allow easy kinkage. Win/win?

I looked at a couple of plumbing supply websites and it looks like there's a good range of tubing diameters as well as a good selection of connectors to allow a standard manifold set up.

if you think it would be a viable option, plz let me/us know, cause if not, i'll probably build a pvc set up like yours and Dans.

fwiw,

Ona

Pex is to stiff to use for drip lines . used for the manifold instead of PVC .... yeah i could see that . but the fittings are more expensive & even the PEX itself is a little more too . stick with PVC or the black vinyl tubing like i use .

& aspen , thats what you should be using instead of the blue stuff too . it won't kink like that did .

I built and tested the system before i drilled the holes out. I placed all 6 halos in separate 5 gallon buckets, Filled the res and set the timer for 6 seconds, then i measured the contents of the bucket......... I was getting roughly 55 ounces of water per bucket with a 6 second blast, It wasn't hard enough to make a mess but the Halos all fired at once.....

Why did you drill more holes and how? What nutes are you using?

I use hydrofarm 1/2 tubing with 4, 3/8 inch holes drilled into the bottoms and a 1/2 inch t-barb.

Thx Dan. I pulled up a couple of youtube vids after I asked about it here. It does look stiffer than garden hose, so not good for what she was needing.
