Girl Scout Cookies

Platinum Girl Scout Cookies came to me as an unhealthy little plant with a poor root structure around Christmas in a beer cup. She was probably vegged for 2 weeks before I got her. I transplanted her into some FFOF soil and 3 weeks later this was her:

She was an awful slow grower and was Vegged for a total of 70 days and was placed into flowering on March 7th.

i think my "thin mint" cut very well could be platinum. if so congrats on your platinum. if shes the same as my cut youll like her if you get her to stack. if you cant get her to stack she yields like forum.if you get it to stack it yields like a good og//

The key to getting cookies to stack for me personally is, Very selective branch pruning. Prune the bottom branches. Leave the long middle branches, prune the short middle branches closer to the top. Leave the top. They like a lot of light, and can eat quite a bit. Not as much as like hazes but more than most hybrids. More than indicas.

I've never grown any cookies, so take this with a grain of salt. My pheno of Steve Urkle kind of looks like cookies. The first time I grew it, it was fighting for light, and it stretched the internodes way out. The second time I ran it, it was not competing for light, and I kept the canopy pretty even. It stacked way better the second time, and the internode distance was pretty tight. It actually ended up yielding pretty well.
Here's a couple of shots from the "even canopy" run:

...and, yes I know this isn't cookies, but it might still be relevan.

This is her now at 25 days flower in a 4 plant per 1,000 Watt room:

those look very close to my OGKB bag seed S1's. I suspect the popular bay area cookie cuts are all bag seed sisters.

the color of the petioles is very unique and it's the same on the forum cut I have.

there's also a special shade of white that the pistols get before they start to turn orange that reminds me of heavy cream.

yea snype the GSC can be a slow bitch sometimes…I'm finding it mostly has to do with cut selection. out of 100 GSC cuts il run, there will always be a handful that never seem to really catch. the most common trait is a weak rootball, dark purple stems and just pitifully slow veg. usually i just toss these sick slowpokes down and just run the cookie clones that show the most regular vigor. otherwise just prune the shit out of her and give it some time they will usually catch and explode once you flip them.

I'm still trying to figure out the whole 1000w vs 600w debate. several well known growers claim they get their best GSC yields under 600w instead of 1000w but i have not verified this. lately been running both and dont seem to notice a difference. she's such a pain to grow sometimes that I'm really gonna cut back on her for mass production soon.

ill answer a little on that.
shes a nute hog that cant tolerate much of a p.h. swing.
in the event of a ph swing dur to getting behind on water i had all my cookies loose some fan leaves and look all fucked up. alll my other plants didnt show much distress from it. the cookies also turn to crumble top if you even look at it sideways. but the lowers will loook great. seems to want more food during stretch to stay green.

Prop what qualities about it make it a pain to grow??

I always thought cookies was one of the hardest plants to screw up while growing...but I don't use pk boosters and I generally keep over 18" between my canopy and the bottom of my hoods...I only had MCNS one time and it was when I hit em with boosters in a summer run

it's really a pain because it just won't produce even when it's dialed. I had a room that was 25% forum cut that produced over 7.25#(4kw 30 plants total) from the room...1.25# was cookies...that means that the other 3 lights in the room did 2# per light...that was probably the best run quality wise that I've had with cooks too and I had 5-6g tops...she just didn't put out. that was w/ no co2 and no pk boosters.

pretty much the same shit, pulling down a 10kw room right now where GSC is once again the lowest yielding strain in the room. did under 600s but just no where near the yield of other strains. so you're saying your best was with no PK booster of any kind?

the only garunteed way to get her chunky is via paclobutrazol, but i dont want to use it so I've been trying in coco with no luck. i just got a crazy insane stack out of my vermifire soil room so i might plug some GSC into that medium and see what happens.

So use of a bushmaster like product should help with the chunkyness?? I over did it with that stuff before and hermied a whole tray of sour kush and og. Good thing i had some d.m reverse lol although i will say it cut the stretch in half and made massive buds.

yeah, unless you consider h&g bud xl a booster? it doesn't really have much in it in terms of npk. no boosters like moab or kool bloom that have large amounts of p and k

The pcg gsc that I get is easy to grow and grows fast. It yields low though, and you barley need any extra phosphorous additives, honestly I just like the b'cuzz bloom. For roots you need a micro culture. My root regiment is gh rapid start azos mykos, and ogtea veganic special sauce. My root balls are absurd. Best they have ever been.
