Gonna crack the triangle soon myself. Didn't realize when I got them that it's was only a 5 pack. I've been putting it off because I suck at starting seeds, and I'm afraid I'll waste them. Guess I should just man up and drop them.

Are you talking about the ones from CSG? I got 4 packs of those when they dropped because there was only 5 seeds/pack as noted above, and wanted a minimum of 20 to pheno hunt through.

Never really heard anything about CSG but it seemed like it had the potential to be a legendary cross so I bit.

Thinkin about poppin mine soon as well... I'm running 3 cookie strains right now but I'm thinkin I'd like to run 2 strains per 2x8 tray so 1 more cookie strain would fit the bill, assuming they have somewhat similar nutrient needs so they can share the same rez (have to keep the fingers crossed for this one...).

Well they are all fem beans anyways right and that's why they are five packs? Ojd from connoisseur is a stand up breeder document your seed pops and if you have any issues with germination I bet you 100% he will stand behind his beans for any issues.

I assure you, if they don't make it, it'll be my fault! Sometimes I get 100%, and sometimes way less. I dint know what I screw up, but I'm sure it's me.
I don't want derail the cookie thread, I've read every ones preferred germ method. I'm just excited to see some triangle cookies come on line. And I'll definitely log mine for everyone to see.

I have some testers for ojd going right now I'll be showing later on triangle kush cookies x freak. Right now I definitley have a triangle leaning pheno throwing 3 leafs in veg looks almost identicle to my ghost and banana cut in veg.

I always just drop my seeds into a shot glass of water that sits on my hot water tank. They will sink and throw out a tail in no time.

gil- have you tried starting seeds in rapid rooter plugs? no worries about over watering. feed them super light after the first set of real leaves, transplant once roots are abundant(but not tangled/intertwined with one another) it's as easy as keeping 1/4" of water in the bottom tray, and depending on your environment a seedling heat mat may be of tremendous help for this time of year.

I'm completely illiterate on the subject and maybe someone could enlighten me: I see a lot of people talking about fem beans are less desirable than normal. Is there less genetic variation to work with in fems? Or do they predominately carry one parents genetics more than the other? Why are they generally looked down upon (from what I've seen at least) ?

They are fems. It was gsc reversed to triangle kush. There are countless threads and debates about the pros and cons of fems. The biggest problem would be higher chance of herms, but if your not breeding with them, they are a great way to cross 2 proven plants and get some amazing phenos.

That whole not breeding with fem seeds is a crock. I have made tons of beans with fem seed pops and they were absolutely fine. It would be just like breeding with any other plant as long as it was stable when growing.

Worse thing about FEMs is the potential for HERMS. I mean for example look how many clone onlys that were accidents are used to breed with.

I got nothing against fems at all. I was just explaining why some people are afraid of them. I've got a lemon skunk(fem) X bluedigiberry f2 (male) that is one of my favorite plants yet.
Like I said, there are entire threads devoted to that topic, so no need for more. Just look out for anyone who bashes fems, then in the next breath tells you about their awesome cut of gg#4.

Don't be bummed about that at all. Those went fast, so you are lucky to have them. Gonna be some legendary plants in those seeds. And starting with 20, you are gonna find multiple keepers. If at all possible, you should run all of them at once. And please share your findings. I will do the same, but I only have 5.

yeah, there aint a damn thing wrong with femmed seeds. as far as breeding goes, its not contraindicative to run fems in a breeding program at all. as a matter of fact its a breeding technique that works well. you can cross a femmed seed to a regular and voila you have reg offspring. its not a genetic aberration to fem seeds. its totally a normal and natural part of how cannabis has evolved and reproduced since its beginnings. nothing to fear if its forced versus a highly susceptible variety that does it under low levels of stress. then it can be genetic, but if your force a plant that doesnt otherwise present intersexually, you are likely passing gender stable genetics in a femmed seed. the genetics arent at play in that situation, chemicals are, and the genetics dont change when that happens.

since it'll be 20 females I'm almost tempted to just start with 10 total... I don't need to find multiple keepers since I have a smaller op (6k) so it would kill me to have to kill of some keepers in place of 1 prized pheno.

Might pop 2 packs to start and save the others as reserve for a future date ? Never know when shit can hit the fan (e.g. AC going bust and plants dying from overheating - my buddy lost an entire 30k room once when this happened, or a bad RA infestation where you have to start over from scratch) so never hurts to have contingencies is my thinking.

I love when people say fems aren't for breeding. I bet everyone of those people have grown an og, chem, sour cross. Or almost any elite for that matter. If the plant is garbage or you have a less than optimal environment you'll get herms, not so much fems if they're made right with solid parents

I just wasted toooo many seeds doing 12/12 from seed, and would GLADLY run some fems and Veg up some Huge 6' indoor babes instead of wasting a seed ever again and without get clones.
