i only use point and shoot for the herb. i take world class photos with my DLSRs but save that for other subjects

not looking for fame from herb photos here. my buds speak for themselves

there are quite a few excellent photographers on this site and i enjoy looking at all of their work. but regardless of camera or photographer... good herb is pretty to look at.

You have no taste is what it comes down to when accepting the standard set forth for cannabis photos on these forums. Might be because it's a baboon's match for who has the biggest space or plants or latest named hybrid.

All I wish is that the chest thumping would extend into the visuals department and see people compete for magazine quality centerfold work. Hate me for speaking out about it if you will, but I figured I'd get a burr under a few people's saddle and make 'em at least get interested.

my go to is my canon 20d with 70-200 2.8 IS, 20-70L, 50mm 1.8 prime. i have 2 20d bodies. one for backup.

have a 5d on order along with 60mm 2.8 macro.

no chest thumping here. i have been into photography for a decade. i choose to use point and shoot because i have an sd slot on my laptop and it is quick and easy. call me lazy but i still think some of my photos are dank. have you been through my thread?

I love your plants and have seen your thread countless times P. The herb looks bomb, anyone with experience around the stuff can get a great feel for what it looks like in real life based on the photos.

Nobody here would complain about seeing higher resolution Scouts from the Canon gear, that's for damn sure. I'm even going as far as asking you to please do so. Please upgrade our visual pleasure if only for a moment.

All I said - is sure, you take good photos - it's one thing to give pointers and tips about improving photography site wide - it's another entirely to elevate yourself as the resident photo jockey and compare / judge / SLANDER anything you think doesn't hold up to some particular set of standards that you've placed upon yourself - not to mention, I love your work if you are in fact also MASHUP - but to overtly state your standards are supreme, is pompous.

So, from what I hear - you want to send me a nicer camera? Oh, wait...no? Oh, I'm supposed to spend my rent on a camera so I can beef up my internet swag...once again, nope - not going to happen....rofl.

Given the right equipment, I know without question I can take photos equally as good if not better than yours...the fact I get the shots I do with a Nikon S8200 - says more about my ability with a camera, than it does yours, in fact....lol.

chazz - I'm down to see some cannabis photos meeting the 'Great' stamp of approval you wield and learn from the master(s).

I feel like my images are a 6.5-7 out of 10. A couple more years study, and progress as a grower might see them in the 8-9 range. What do you think? If I'm only at a 5, then what's that saying about everyone else's images? Proves cannabis photos are severely lacking. Sad scenario with all the money floating around the industry.
