In 1998, Denver was arrested for having a parcel of marijuana delivered to his home. He originally said that the parcel had come from Dawn Wells (who had played "Mary Ann" on Gilligan's Island) but later refused to name her in court, and testified that "some crazy fan must have sent it". The police reportedly found more of the drug and related paraphernalia in Denver's home. He pleaded no contest and received six months probation.

Slinky & sexy Ginger always made my blood boil the most. I hope
that Dawn is able to make the most of this incident, maybe taking a
role in a stoner movie if offered. Cheech & Chong were talking bout
doing another flick it'd be cool to see her cast in that.

Anyway I sure hope she comes out of this none the worse for wear,

This story is another example of the Media trying to make a story out of nothing. They are just taking a cheap shot at herb. They try to make Cannabis look like a drug that makes you all stupid and uncoordinated. When in reality this old broad was drunk. Sure I spanked one or two off to her back in tha day, but that doesn't mean shit nowadays, she was drunk and swerving because of alcohol. So the cops find MJ and the fucking idiots on CNN make a headline out of it further tarnishing Cannabis .

I have been in many scary situations driving, and the times I best kept my cool and overted danger was when I had smoked earlier, I drive slower, am more attent and focus on what I'm doing. Alcohol on the other hand has the opposite effect...
