Getting Maniacal with Organics: Fermented Plant Extracts and Plant Meals

So a few days after finding out that one plant in my yard is Lambsquarters I made an FPE out of it, as well as one out of Clover. Apparently Lambsquarters is a supreme vegetable source of Protein as well as an array of other nutrients, this brew will kick ass for sure.

Here's a picture of a tray of Dandelion greens freshly dried in my dehydrator. I harvested enough to fill like 5 trays...

... and after drying and hand-crushing (I found this to be better than mortar n' pestle)... the yield was reduced down to this little baggy. This meal will surely pack a punch.

Jaykush has provided some very wise advice. Learn what youre about to squirt on your plants.

A tea made of jymson weed or queen anns lace can kill you dead.

just one more tip so everyone knows. if you buy a cheap o blender at the thrift store. you can make FPE practically twice as fast. put the plant matter and water in there and blend. it immediately makes the water colored and the particles very small. this gives more surface area which the microbes process faster. i have 4 cheap o blenders just for making fpe and other things for my garden.

I was wondering about the hemlock, it grows everywhere around here and from what I've read contains a lot of micronutrients. There was also an article about some lady using it as the base for her compost pile with great success.

If you are feeding it to your plant and not to yourself, the toxins shouldn't carry over, right? Wikipedia says it is similar to nicotine, and you wouldn't get nicotine laced pot if you watered with tobacco.

^ Good point. There's always room for testing, exercising extreme caution as to not hurt yourself.

It's 'bout time I put one of my FPEs to use. The tea below is made with the following ingrediènz (most being in SMALL amounts):

Dechlorinated/ Dechloramined Water (by means of molasses and vigorous stirring)
Dandelion FPE
Liquid Kelp
Sea 90
Maple Syrup
Barley Malt Syrup
Ale Yeast
Rejuvelac (made with water and Kamut berries)
Plus I Spit In It

As I said above a good amount of the ingredients are in small amounts, and I'm only going to mist a small amount of the finished product onto the soil surface of my ganja plants, the rest is being poured onto my garden. And I'm going to consume a lil' myself. Don't tell Pa.

One more thing I'd like to point out is that I have fell into the groove of aerating my teas using manpower only. No pumps to clean, no electricity used, its a fun arm workout, and it makes my teas look alot more alive. This is where the pics come in.

Here it is. It kinda looks a swamp. Or the Earth. Or beer. The smell? beer of sorts.

Here is me doing a decent job of stirring while holding a camera. Look how alive.

The Aftermath. Good head retention, medium body, a good session beer.
