Getting an early start, try for 2 crops

Howdy again.
I havent been able to spend much time interwebbing lately.

The babies are going well. Many thanks to HC for his timely advice. After his words I checked around and realised the black on the leaves were likely PH lockout caused by overfeeding with seasol, maybe some overwatering and cool temps helped also.
Since then I have scaled back feedong with seasol considerably and am keeping an eye on temps and watering.

Here are spme pics of them now. They are outside most days between 9am and 3pm, now that yhe weather is fining up this seems to agree with them. At other times they are under lights, using lights and sun I have them on an 18/6 schedule.
As you can see I have begun selective trimming of leaves to give me the shape I want. Ive just trimmed the tops now to encourahe new growth.



There seems to be a lot of growth beginning now so I am thinking the roots should be well established.
So I am now thinking of beginning to reduce the light schedule by 1.5 hrs per week until they are at 12/12. then hopefully get some flowering and then some clones to go in large pots for outaide grow during the summer.
Sound about right?

wonder if you'd like to check out my sativa seedlings in aust/nz "Organic Fanatics'?

they germinated in my garden on the rain about xxx and have been outdoors all the time since.
they're growing in an organic mix I made (it's still a bit hot ... I have to keep watering them, but it will settle down soon).

I never trim my seedlings because I need to see their natural shape to make an educated guess about their gender. I look for an umbrella shape ... but of course this is not infallible ...

I gave these seedlings molasses diluted at one teaspoon per 6 liters (if my memory is working properly) but nothing else. after all they are weeds!

Instead of reducing the light schedule how about keep them vegging. Get as many clones as you can off each plant....don't forget to record which clone came off each mother.

Then put the clones on to 12/12 and force them to show their sex. That way you get to know which one of the mums is female and you can nurture and treasure them into producing 100's of clones. Female clones.

Always be good to your mums.

Good advice HC. Plant cloning 101. If you think youre on to a good thing, make sure you stick to it, like resin to your trim scissors. in fact, if you have the time and the inclination (and remember once you have a few tools in your inventory), it's easy to take a cutting of each seedling when they first show sex.

These plants are, after all, weeds.

heya Wilbur, Im trimming because I want these two to be kind of bonsai house plants. No idea if Im able to do this but will try.

Ive heard good things about molasses must remember to try it.

Definitely, thanks! I really want to only to keep this tou a few plants, one bonsai and a couple of clones for smoking, is all i need. But I thought Id try flowering these, once, asap, just to see what they produce.
The clones I plan to just grow outside in large pots.
I dont think my lighting is good for much more than a couple and Im not keen on upgrading it yet.
Im definitely getting a lot of ideas for the future from you guys, but for now im very limited by several factors.
