with my quick made veg box good to go and my current grow 3 weeks from finishing ive decided to have at it without delay. i did start a follow up that pretty much was a sausage of CB IIs and chem d/ds....so this time around i went ahead and germed the last of my sweet tooth#3(7), my LOCxHPxG13(7), and five of rez' bottle rocket hopefully ill get twelve females, pulling and 1/2oz-oz off each. all finish in 8-9 weeks, will bloom under one 150w hps, but i may add a second by the time they are ready to be flowered. using GH nutes,n.l. fat flower, molasses, and epsom salt in organic MG cut 5 to 2 with perlite. my current grow looks close to a gram per watt, hopefully this one will surpass it. a shot at the beginning....

all have been in water over 24 hrs, but no tap roots at all this time. it happened with the other swt#3s before, but not the LOCs or rez's other beans. oh well, tonight they go into ziplocks with the paper towels.

Also, 150w is hardly enough considering you are germing about 17 seeds....

i agree that 17 plants is a lot for a 150, he actually mentioned 19 total though (7+7+5). :wink: After week 3 or 4 of veg they'll start crowding each other out and thats about when you'll prolly be switching to flower as thats when the preflowers are going to most likely start showing up. Hopefully you can remove enough males to make space for the ladies

Most likely you're going to end up with 5-8 females after germination losses and male culling. thats not too bad for a 150. im thinking 6-8 will be just about perfect if you're switching to flower after 4 weeks of veg or so.

I don't think you're going to find that SOGing them is your best option with a 150. You're going to have plants that are 2-3 feet tall with the 150 barely able to penetrate the first foot. of plant matter. I think you're going to end up wanting to train them starting pretty early.

Im not sure why im giving you all this advice......you look like you have a lil experience from your sig..

last time 2 times i started seeds.....i germed 9, 2 didnt make it,4 were females....i germed another 9, 4 didnt even germ, 1 stunted, the rest male except for 1 that still hasnt shown anything....so that led me to this conclusion, instead of germed a set number which was 9, id aim for 9 females instead. id germed all of my sweettooth#3 i had left cuz last time none did anything but get moldy inside the paper towel within a day....i germed the last of my LOCxG13 becuz the last time the 2 of them that made it were both males and from what ive read its a nice 8 week finisher so im hoping for 1 or 2 moms out of the 7....and then when i got my bottle rocket i was suprised with 15 beans instead of 10 so i germed 5 of those in hope of 1 killer mom for me to start my cloning with and 1 to grow out. then theres runt issues, ones that dont pop, ones that pop goo,etc. im expecting at most 3 swt#3s to germ, if that...i im reality im looking at 12 beans...from that the 6-8 female number. i havent said it yet but im probably going to add the 65w cfl im using for veg into the box with another similar bulb to help supplement light. the cfl is a 65w that gives out 4200lumens, 8400 extra lumens wont hurt right? i only have 3 feet total grow height anyways, but the indicas im growing now are almost solid colas so i figured a complete indica SOG wouldnt hurt... all 3 strains im germing finish in 9 weeks so i dont think height will be an issue...best thing of all, if none of these seeds work I got my hasberry and blockhead today good times...

I also didn't have too good germination with mine - 5/10. Are yours also "inspected from bulk"? Any way, those beans are getting a little old so 100% shouldn't be expected.

yea, they are...ill seriously do a back flip if anything comes out of their paper towel, last time they were moldy from being in a damp paper towel only 26 hours while the chems i germed had 2 1/2" tails. since i got my package today i want them to crap out so i can start my hashberry.

well i was wrong, 2 of 7 swt#3 are poking tap roots, 1 BR, nothing from the LOCxG13s yet...last time with them i put them straight into dirt and they all germed so if nothing comes from them ill put 5 down anyways just to see what happens. hopefully more BRs pop by tomorrow.

1. putting seeds straight into peat pellets (as long as your ambient temps are somewhere above 65 or 70*F) will eliminate any issues of no-germs due to conditions as long as you keep them in a dome til they sprout and then make sure the pellets don't dry out (not tough).

2. you know the 8-9 weeks is once they start flowering right? Those few weeks of veg before they even are mature enough to be flowered will add some size. If you d on't want to tie them down, at least start topping after the 3rd or 4th node to keep height down if thats a concern.

yeap, i know...well last time, i started my JHxWRs at 10-11 inches and my MODs were 6-8 inches, vegged 5-6 weeks under a cfl. the sativa dom JHs had to be tied over on themselves while the indy dom MODs are bud totem poles that are the perfect height for my grow cab. im not expecting stretch to be a factor with any bean except for rez's gear. on a side note when i tried the early under 12/12 from seed method, a 4 inch chemd/sourd tripled its size before showin its sex, so right now its a toss up with vegg times but im figuring if i put em in at the same MOD height ill be ok. i also plan on tryin the FIM technique if enough make it to see how that grows in there as well. yeap, i was one of the lucky ones the first time they hit weekend special

i got 3 strong swt#3s and 2 bottle rockets just poking out...nothing from the LOCxG13s at all this time...im gonna give it another week for any other to pop up and then if nothing does ill remove the cups that had duds and load em up with something else...
