Gender dysphoria and the trans movement.

If someone buys the article, post it here. I can already see it’s limited to data comprised from health insurance claims. I would guess that isn’t even close to the true number of patients who are forced to self pay.

Talk to the 40 and over crowd who takes TRT and most will tell you most insurance carriers won’t cover hormone replacement. Hard to imagine they are paying for these drugs

What i find funny is this. If the numbers are so low like they claim, why the resistance to limit these treatments to adults ? Also curious what kind of safety data they have

I wouldn't trust much of what the Associated Press says. They're a far left, biased source. But if I did why such an uproar over 0.1%. I say let them become adults before they cut their junk off or start trying to change their sex.

And I noticed the data is from age 8 to 17, but they say no one under 12 is prescribed hormones. So really the numbers are more like half that, so maybe closer to 0.05% were prescribed hormones. Seems misleading which I'm not surprised about. Here's a little of what it says:

The researchers analyzed a large insurance claims database covering more than 5 million patients ages 8 to 17.

Only 926 adolescents with a gender-related diagnosis received puberty blockers from 2018 through 2022. During that time, 1,927 received hormones. The findings, published in JAMA Pediatrics, suggest that fewer than 0.1% of all youth in the database received these medications.

The researchers found that no patients under age 12 were prescribed hormones

Sometimes "researchers" intentionally present information that advances their point, while not presenting info. which weakens their point.

Agree, Associate Press is a tool to herd opinions.

Operation mockingbird was a government program to use media to herd opinions and denigrate dissenters.
Don't know if Associated Press fits into that program, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

They were once a trusted source, but things have changed. TDS has infected the media too.

Insurance companies are dumb. I have insurance just in case, but for normal dr stuff I pay cash.

Strep throat was $35 for me to treat total including getting an rx and buying the pills.

Trt is right around $30 a month if you pay cash.

They can be. I know a lot of people self pay at clinics versus trying to find a doctor within the insurance networks that will do TRT. I assume this is not much different.

Some insurances may cover say testosterone but wouldn’t cover HCG or anastroszole. It’s easier to just pay for your own health versus depending on an insurance company decide what is right for you. I would imagine a lot of these people are doing the same so I bet that study is far from accurate

Anyone that supports group identity politics over individualism is left. Same with affirmative action, Dei, pushing women’s rights so far they include men, etc.

Good and bad people come in all colors.

Affirmative action is racist policy and directly in opposition to MLK and the merit-based ideas he expressed.

Some people would rather be judged by color than have their character exposed.

Good point. Kamala even invented some color hoping that would win her some votes.

Then half white Obama tried to chastise, "the brothers" for not staying on the democrat plantation and voting for the Trump plantation.
Race hucksters need racial strife to remain relevant.

Doctors need people to "take their meds" to keep getting them bonuses from big pharma.

Round and round we go. :whee:

Science works backwards now. Instead of pouring over data to find how things work, they start with an idea and look (sometimes their entire life) looking for a way to prove it.

Imagine working your whole life on something that’s not true. The urge to falsify data is huge, as seen by all the fake data in papers now.
