Watch those no pest stips garlic, the usa is the last country to ban them. Over here they have been banned for some time. They have been proved to be carsonagenic, I can't spell that, and have been linked to cancer. Dont spend too much time in with them if you can help it. And if you can't, then think about getting rid of them as soon as you can.

uh oh... I didn't know they were that bad.. I've had mine hangin around for a while. I will take em down and only use them if I really need to.

thx for the info

Damn, Causes cancer huh? You might think California would have banned them along time ago since they address everything else that causes cancer. Every plumbing part I pick up says, "This product is known in California to cause cancer." Then I just say, "I am so glad I am safe since I live in XYZ and not California." Two blocks from Sesame Street if you didn't know.

Being a carcinogenic , might explain why they work so well.

P.S. I love dictionary.com

Great grow, Garlic! I love the way you've got a natural light shed.

What are the dimensions of those screens, are they 3" square?

Alright first off I think I jumped the gun on the mold. I'm just a little paranoid after loosing half of my Mazar last season to mold. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though.

Jaws you might be able to see the 20" oscilating fan in there. I have 2 of them on opposite corners. 1 blows directly on the urkles. Trust me when I say the air is flowing threw the tin can.

My biggest problem is the fog. It seems to be holding on the coast for now , but I'm sure it will be back soon.

This winter I'll be running the urkles again and try topping them more. I hope you get an LB. off of yours. :woohoo:

GMT I'm not blaming you I just thought that laziness fit when it comes to my grows. Not really. A busy life is more like it. Plus I've been growing for so long now that it's lost it's newness to me.

The no pest strips are in bags and stored now. I have been a little worried about the gases, but they kick ass as far as weapons of mite destruction ( thanks for that one MGJ).

TTT The white spots are cornmeal from adding spider mite predators a while back. I'll give you a pass on the beat down.J/K Thanks for stopping in.

Sparky Glad to see the new job is keeping you busy. Congratulations my friend :woohoo: Will the sulfur burners damage my crop at all?

Gro be careful with the strips especially seeing as how you are indoors. Oh come on no smart ass remarks? :moon: :moon: :yoinks:

OJ I hope they don't ban them!!! :yoinks: They really work, just like DDT that saved more lives than it killed.

Bonzo bombs work great bro, but you have to keep up with them because they don't kill the eggs and that's the hard thing to do is stop the cycle of the mites. They worked great for me and I was infested.

OGPurp Thanks for the props. I think they are like 3x3? If you look back to the begining I think I have the size there if not measure them for you.

MGJ I don't think I have anything tuned. This is only my second run in the tin can and you can always do better. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the final weights are to see if it's close to last year? I think it's a lot less , but a lot higher quality. Thanks for coming by my friend.

Thanks for all the advice and props guys

 Sleepy so is the memory loss caused by the Black Thai or MGJ's canna cookies? :yummy:

The only way I can see to keep the humidity under control is by keeping the fog on the bay. Anyother suggestions?

i guess a sulpher burner is in order...do you have any Serenade?

i hear milk(diluted) sprayed on the leaves helps, but i don't know... :chin:

change the pH of the environment that the mold thrives in and it can't grow...but that change in pH can make life difficult for your garden, as well... :chin: hmmm...

i'll do some reading and get back to you...

the memory trouble was definitely not helped by the thai weed! hehehe :woohoo: :yoinks: :pointlaug :joint: :joint: :joint: :fsu:

 Sleepy I'm a little leary of spraying anything on my plants this late in flower. I did it once before and ruined my crop. I guess if needed though a sulpher burner would be the way to go. Thanks.

Jaws I'm afraid if I get more fans they would blow my plants over. it's pretty windy in there now the way it is. Not even really sure I have mold? After trimming all the fan leaves off I don't see any more mold. :woohoo:

HOW ABOUT THOSE NINERS!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks

Need some advice?

Need some advice?

I just went out and bought a bottle of Serenade.

I'm getting a little worried about the mold on my urkles.

If I use this will it ruin my taste, smell and potency?

How often should I use it ?

Should I rinse my plants before harvest?

Sorry for all the questions it's just that this stuff smells really bad and I could just imagine what it would taste like.

A little help please

thanks

I have used it once at the beginning of flower last year, so i can't really comment on its effects. You must reapply after rain i know.

I dont know if you caught my organic links thread, but here's something i found about serrinade. Quote from the thread:

An excerpt from wikepedia about Serrinade biofungicide made by Argaquest. Bacillus subtilis is the bacterial biofungicide active ingredient.

"B. subtilis is not considered a human pathogen; however it may contaminate food but rarely causes food poisoning.[3]

Its spores can survive the extreme heating that is often used to cook food, and it is responsible for causing ropiness in spoiled bread.

Nevertheless, a strain of B. subtilis formerly known as Bacillus natto is used in the commercial production of the Japanese delicacy natto as well as the similar Korean food cheonggukjang. Other strains of B. subtilis also have commercial applications. For instance, B. subtilis strain QST 713 (marketed as QST 713 or Serenade™) has a natural fungicidal activity, and is employed as a biological control agent.[4],[5]"

I would caution people about using this toward end of flower. You could eat spores and be fine, you can eat many things, but I'm not sure if its a good idea to have alive spores being drawn into your lungs every time you smoke your flowers. Early to mid bloom season applications are likely fine, and the spores would dissipate with time and weather.

I'm not sure of the effects of inhaling these spores, but i don't want to find out the hard way.

heya garlic: yeah sounds like next run a sulpher burner is definatly in order.......i've never used the serenade stuff, so i can't comment too intelligently......which is usually the case any way.........haha.........but from what i've just read on it i don't think it is something that you would want to smoke...........

maybe do a test run this go at it with only one plant..........i would rinse too before the chop........either way let us know what you decide, i'm interested to see what happens.........speakin of.......howz bout an update dood.............

 Thanks for the tip Moz I was thinking the same thing. I haven't used it because I am worried about smoking it after I took a good wiff of it. I haven't had anymore probs with the mold since the weather has gotten warmer and the fog is staying away.

I am going to take my chances with the mold. I have been watching very closely everyday, digging in the buds and everything. No more mold so far so I hope I can finish my urkles soon?

Now some pics

Nice update Garlic! Looking jungle-y in there :yummy: Congrats on the mold being gone. Curious - what's the height on your urkles?

 Thanks MGJ. I'm not sure I'm out of the woods yet as far as the mold goes? The only plants I'm worried about so far are the urkles because they are so damn tight.

The urkles are about 3 foot tall. Next run I'm going to top them like crazy. It should improve the yield a lot more. This run of the urkles I'm not expecting much of a yield out of them, but that's OK because it's all for my head anyways.

Hurricane sorry I should have given you my address sooner. But seeing as how you have found my house would you like a few silver bullets? :friends: How about a bonghit I still have a little sensi star left from last year? :bongsmi: Oh yeah and by the way :moon: :moon: :moon: Make yourself at home you are always welcome.

Pipeline My urkles are starting to get fat now. I think they might have another 2-3 weeks? The rest are starting to put some size on now too. :woohoo: My bagseed doesn't look like a huge yielder, but she looks killer for sure. My BBW's are smelling very berry like. :yummy: It's hard to keep my nose out of them. Everything is starting to get frosty now. :woohoo:

Thanks for stopping in guys and thanks for all the compliments
