Rooting cuttings 005.JPG

They look ruff. I added nutrient solution into the tray 2 days ago. I notice the first root peaking out from the bottom, 4 days ago and now just over 1/3 of them are showing a root. They will start recovering and looking green again now.

Just a thought of the top of my brain.... I wonder how well they would root out if the light was on 1/2 power, or not totally on full power. Perhaps the light might be a little on the strong side, or maybe I should add nutrients solution sooner

Either way, it's not yet 2 weeks yet since I took cuttings so they seam to be ahead of what has been my normal time line for cuttings to root out.

week 3 for the cuttings and transplanting day. 100% of cuttings rooted. Most of them where so well rooted they would have been good for transplanting into a soil type of medium.

I'm looking at up to 2 weeks of veg time and then they will get transplanted again and flipped. I need them to make a nice root ball in the hydroton between now and the next transplanting into larger pots of hydroton. A nice root ball is needed to help keep the stem solidly anchored, which can be an issue I've had in the past.

I lowered the light. I also turned the light's brightness down. At first I turned it down all the way, but have turned it up a little more from that.

In the following photos you can see roots coming out of the cups. I'm going to cut all of those roots that exit the cups. I need them working on making roots on the inside the cup to make a good root ball before transplanting them.

I moved all of them around. I placed all the smaller ones to the outer edge, closet to me, and the bigger ones in the other two rows. the smaller ones most likely are not going to be transferred on to flower the flower room for this run.
