Ganja tea

Looking for a good weed tea recipe. I was in India once and drank some tea there, knocked me on my ass.
But how do they make it? simmer buds for a while in water? Somebody's gotta know

If it has an effect or even a strong taste i doubt they use water as thc isn't soluble. I don't know if theres enough fat in milk but maybe simmer it milk or maybe add cream.
Other than that could add hash i guess we used to brake up hash into our hot chocolate.
Sorry just realised i probably added more questions than answers.
Its sound good i would like to try it!

In India you probably drank bhang, or something very close. I like to make my bhang by simmering milk and ganja for a bit. Strain out the ganja when done. Adding things like honey, cinnomon and other spices to liven up the drink. Try things with different spices around the kitchen. I wish I had my favorite spice recipe around. You can and will find something that everybody likes.

Milk fats are the fastest and most efficient carriers of thc through the stomache lining.

You can also simmmer your milk, then add canna butter. This is a great one on a cold winters afternoon. The butter will warm you right up.

Indian style tea (chai) has milk and ghee (clarified butter) in it. If you use "holly ghee" (clarified canna butter) you have a quite psico-active tea. It's quite good once you get used to the butter and spice taste.

most people use whole milk and simmer the buds in it. This works well because THC is fat soluble. I actually prefer to use just plain water. I know that people will tell you it doesnt work because THC is not water soluble, but it does work. You boil the weed for about 30 min or more and drink the tea, its delicious.

The down side is that you need a lot of trim per cup, compared to using fats, it is not very strong in comparison due to lower solubility in water. However the effect from this method is absolutely fantastic IMO.

With fats, the high very couchlock, very strong body effect. I have had physical hallucinations from it. Like waves and vibrations through your body, lasts a very long time, even the next day your still stoned. You cant do anything, cant think, just sit or lie down, wasted me.

With the pure water tea, the high tends to come on much faster and is very similar to smoking with the same duration and type of effect (i.e. more up high, not anywhere near as much body). You have to make sure you take it on an empty stomach, and especially that you dont have any oils or fats in your stomach, because the THC will bind to the fats in your stomach, and the effect will be exactly like I described above, very strong body and lasting a very long time, leaving you wasted for a day or more in some cases.

You do need more with pure water, but if you have lots of spare trim its worth it IMO. It is actually my favorite way to get stoned. You need about 1/2 oz of trim for one dose. Boil it for at least 30 min. I prefer to drink it straight without any sugar or anything.

erza:: i've heard that consuming some sort of fatty food was essential when eating THC.. do you have any more info on this? someone i know might wanna give this a whirl.

The fact that you need to use one half ounce for a SINGLE dose that lasts a fraction of the time as any other ingestion methods tells me that your method is highly ineffective, if it even works at all. It's human nature to doubt, so please don't take offense to me doing so.

Unless you have half ounces to throw around for fun little experiments like this, I'd suggest that if its your first time making tea, stick with the tried-and true methods mentioned above, mainly using whole milk, cream or butter to make your tea.

That was half an oz of Trim not buds! just seems like you guys may have missed that.
I will have ago at the water method as i do have trim to spare, but agreed i would go with something containing fat if you don't.
What do you guys think to space pancakes? just a stoned thought :D

I never claimed it is an efficient way to get high, far from it, and yes it is wasteful in a sense, but to me its worth it. It is my favorite method of consumption. The effect you get from it is totally different to using milk, butter or other fats or oils. THC is definitely soluble in water when boiled, trust me it gets you high. Its a real clean heady high which I much prefer to the heavy, body stone, cant think for 2 days effect which I get from fats.

I really dont think 15 grams of trim is that much of a 'waste', anyone who has enough spare trim, please try it at least once.

Best tea i've had was simply made with buds and milk simmered for 2 hours with some butter. Stoned for hours. I didn't stran it though the weed was ground well.

The use of pure water for canna-tea for me is analogous to smoking through a joint or vaporizer rather than using a bong or pipe for example. Joints and vaporizers are very inefficient at delivering cannabinoids as compared to a bong.

I much prefer the experience of smoking a joint to using a bong. I would go through maybe 4 times as much weed in a joint to get the same effect as a bong. I prefer to enjoy the experience of taking weed, rather than doing it just to get as whacked as possible. That is why it doesn't disturb me to use more weed per unit of effect strength.

The first time I tried a pure water canna-tea, I knew that this is how tea was meant to be consumed. I used trim from an outdoor harvest, boiled and was surprised at the drinkability of the unsweetened, unadulterated tea. The tea flavour is a subtle blend of spice, and complex herbal flavours. It is a dark brownish yellow usually. One of the nicest herbal teas you will ever have. The taste and potency will of course depend on the quality of trim used.

I've made bhang at home, I make mine with cinnamon and it's very potent.
I find it different from making brownies as it seems to kick in faster adn shorter but more intense.

I'm pretty sure THC is water soluble, whether or not your digestive system will absorb it like it will THC that has latched on to a fatty substance I dunno.

You could make some kief with with trim and drop in a cup of tea with a little milk, clarifying butter to make ghee can be a PITA so try cream.

Typo: "You need about 1/2 oz or trim" threw me off. If you're using trim its a different story :p I was under the impression that you were recommending using a half of smokable buds OR trim.

To each his own man, if you like it all the power to you. Maybe some day I'll try it in your honor :-D

I had a decent stash of kief built up in the bottom of my screen grinder and was actually wondering how much to use for a tea. I was thinking a teaspoon or two would probably do it for one serving.

If you've used kief before to make tea could you clue me in on how much to use?

I used a tablespoon the one time I used kief...it was enough and I an not a lightweight by any measure.

Of course I was singing the "it's a wondeful day in the neighbourhood..." song from the Mr.Roger's show by the time my wife got home.

ezra: do u think it is essential to boil the tea w/ the kief or trimmings in w/ it, or do u get similar similar effects when just eating that about of THC plain. (prolly not as trimmings, lol)

^^^ not sure on that one, as I havent really tried just eating kiff before, might like to try that some time though. I dont think that boiling is essential, but I do think that THC is probably is absorbed faster in the form of tea.

A buddy of mine who is quite into herbal teas, said it was actually the best herbal tea he has ever had.

I once dared my buddy to eat a 1/4 oz of this bomb Mango we had. He chewed and swalllowed his way through the whole bag. When he finished I was getting ready to watch him hit the freakin floor. Well sadly enough he didnt get high the only excitement at all was the big green turd he shat the next day.......... ( This is 12 years ago and I knew absolutely nothing about the ingestation of cannabis).

I am gonna try this water tea....Some how I am a litle skeptical but what the hey.

Canna butter in regular English style tea is my favorite way of ingesting.

Its not very potent, but I really like the effect I got from it and really enjoyed the actual tea. If you have a high tolerance, its not going to waste you, but I think its worth a try, to see if you like it.

THC has a relatively low solubility in water, but it is somewhat soluble in water for sure.

Another ingestion method I would like to try is THC dissolved in alcohol. Alcohol I believe is metabolized much faster than fats, therefore kicking in faster. Might have to make some green dragon soon.
