Everyone and their brother has probably heard about this famous strain. From “super weed” to “government created” there are a lot of straight up bullshit facts out there about this strain. Some people claim that our government created this strain, but after a lot of research, G13 is traced back to a very potent Afghani Indica strain. The strains our government used to test with all came from Mexico. So this is not some crazy governmental weed, just some potent indica from Afghanistan. Another comon misconception about G13 is that is contains 28% THC. G13 actually has been tested to contain 18-19% THC by weight not 28%. The only places you will see claiming anything over 20% are sellers of the product or seeds of this strain.
Anyways, enough of that , lets get to the review!!!
I just aquired a half ounce of this G13 and had to write a review, this stuff really kicks me in the ass. At first after purchasing, I was slightly upset because this particular batch does not have a great smell to it and it looked like ~3 grams of shake in the bottom of my jar. Oh well, lets see how she looks up close. I grabbed the 420 Scope and zoomed in on a nug. The calyxes were covered in trichomes and a bunch of pistils. This bud has the most pistils (orange hairs) out of any bud I have seen in a long time. I quickly realized that besides the smell, there was nothing missing from this bud. The “shake” that I thought I had seen at the bottom of my jar earlier was literally just a HUGE pile of hairs at the bottom of my jar.
I got pretty excited by the amount of hairs and needed to take a small tasting..
The taste wasnt anything crazy, just like the smell, however the high was fucking great! Since G13 is a potent indica strain, it gives you an amazing body high. I loved it. I do not think I moved up off the couch at all for a couple of hours after vaping a small nug. I really like this strain a lot. It gives me a creative kind of high but at the same time pretty couch-locked as well. I like sitting down and thinking of new business ideas or messing with some graphic design on the computer. This weed put me in the right mindset to do this and relax and let my thoughts come out!
G13 would also be very beneficial to helping patients with anxiety, pain or eating problems. This strain removes a very moderate amount of pain, as it is a pretty heavy indica. I also seemed to get the munchies like a mother-fucker and I was happy that my chips were on the table so I did not have to get them from the kitchen as I was one with my couch. Haha. I do not really like to smoke this strain in the morning as it tends to do this to me. It is definitely my “night time” bud!
Overall, this batch of G13 did not have a great taste or smell but it really had a wonderful body high. The looks of the strain did not hinder its performance in any way, shape or form but I really favor buds that have a potent, strong smell and great taste. I would definitely get this strain again, maybe just try to find a batch that has some more bag appeal to it. G13 has many medical qualities and is pretty widely available here in the LA area at dispensaries, so if you are in the area please stop by and support your local shop and kop some of this bud and let us know what you think!
