I am waiting for the version I hear about on the Disaster Channel, an earthquake in the Canary Islands where 1/2 the island drops into the ocean.

That's supposed to produce a rather significant tidal wave-ish wave across the entire east coast of the USA.

I definitely understand the guys who go windsurfing in hurricanes.

I always used to head for the ocean to go swimming during storms. It's just a lot more fun. I stay away from reefs and places that have put people in wheelchairs, e.g. Pipeline.

I love to park my car on the beach and watch night storms coming ashore. Best fireworks show from Mother you can see. It's like an approaching artillery front with advancing forces. Freaky and with a little imagination, a glimpse of what a WW2 soldier would have experienced.
