I'm not too sure about that, with all those cops around...
I'd say he might be in some deep shit...
I bet he said something really smooth.
As anyone in that position is pretty much required to in that situation.
It probably started with "Well I jumped in here because I had second thoughts about ditching my drugs down there but now I'm having second thoughts about recovering them, mainly due to your presence, and about my actions in general." and got better from there.
I'm wishing I knew more to that story.... I think.
PS So much for a clean record...
