If you steal the sign, just wrap it in aluminum foil.

A few layers of alum. foil.

You get some signal fall off for each layer of foil.

Since the RFID chips are low power, there isn't much signal to knock off.

The foil works both ways, keeps the tracking chips from speaking or hearing.

This also works on a cell phone.

Kinda OT, but otherwise GREAT post!!!
You don't happen to know any website or other source where I can find more of that stuff?

Kind regards,

Siever

GPS is notoriously energy expensive. How is it powered? It's not because there's no GPS in the sign. RFID is only close. Cops would have to walk into your basement and scan every item in it. So there's no RFID.

The whole thing is to stop people like you from stealing them.

That is Willard Scott the Today show weatherman. He was the first Ronald. He was the guest speaker at a convention I went to years ago. He said they offered him more money or less money and a bunch of stock in McDonalds. He said he took like $25.000 instead of $20,000 a year and stock because he didn't think the stock would ever be worth very much. He said he would have set for life with the stock they offered. At the time the extra money was a big amount though. The numbers I quote are not exact but they are close. It was 25 years ago.

I was on the Ronald McDonald show maybe 1966 or so. A classmate had a dad who was the white house corespondent for NBC and got us on for his birthday. I won a Hans Christian Anderson album for being the first to blow a napkin across the finish line with a straw. Willard Scott seemed cool. He sweated like a pig with all his makeup and costume

Ron do you mean Ronald McDonald or Bozo the Clown? The Bozo show had those types of contests. I don't think there was a Ronald McDonald show just tv commercials. I could be wrong though. Either way your story is cool.
