Why is a No U Turn sign homophobic? I don't get it.

Back in the 90s when I lived in LA near griffith park, the homos would cruise certain streets looking to score a quicky and if they couldn't find a taker or a giver, they'd u turn and cruise the street again. Kind of like a real life version of that scene from something about mary. So now that we are in the woke world, no u-turn signs are equivalent to being homophobic.
