Ummm it's hemp? Hemps been around for 10,000 years or so. Why is this news?

The scientist went on to say that hemp is one of the oldest agricultural plants with 10 thousand-year history and at present it is “unjustly” associated with drugs like marijuana. Hemp must be used to make traditional fibers and oil, Grigoriyev said.

talk about re-inventing the wheel.. Or am i missing sumtin here?

"The active substance in cannabis, thujone"

Whoever wrote that is really bright. Are we talking about bud or Absinthe here?

thankfully it will probly take another 10,000 years for their evil plan to come to fruition.. I dont know about you but I plan to move on before then

its amazing how motivated people become when there's a dollar to be made... I still maintain its a money thing and the pharma co's are planning on exploiting mj for their own gain

same old same old... but I think the community will continue.... each our own little cell, many if not most don't actually know anyone else... we have the knowledge to perpetuate beyond what they do against us so they have a big task ahead.

I'd like to know whats stopping the process going the other way? Is their strain genetically modifed so it cant go the other way?

would be interesting to know I think' :chin: I'm sure you see where I am coming from.....I'd like to make a strain that didn't get fertilised by anything less than itself.... now that would be worthy

Russia’s Interfax news agency quoted Sergei Grigoryev of the Russian Plant Institute as saying that the amount of psychotropic substance in the new variant of cannabis is practically zero. When the new plant is crossed with the wild growing hemp the amount of psychotropic substance in the latter will gradually become less and less. If Russian hemp is grown on industrial level, it could even force the cannabis that is used for making hashish and marijuana out of existence.

hahahahahaaaa a a aha ah hahaaa :moon:

BTW, assuming the growers keep clones and keep breeding uber-potent strains, whats to stop us from counering their nonsense?

Also, I posed this when I was high. I like Russians, so if your Russian and take offense to the title, my apologies.

Thujone, lmfao, now THAT'S brilliant right there, they wowed us with their intelligence and sound scientific background.

It's just too funny.

so what? even if it is widly grown all that will happen is we'll let our potent males out and inside of 5 years it'll have decent THC levels.

there's no way there going to find a way to pollinate my garden, there is however a great chance of me pollinating theirs.

I say we let them do it!

yea i agree with chaotic...whats to stop potent breeding from our side countering their impotent breeding...perhaps GMOs? This is a poorly tranlated article (thoujone, etc), so we may be missing something.

they shoud be working on how to feed all of there people who are starving instead of working on bullshit.

it seems only stupid people are breeding

Russia has always been fucked...and will get worse in the future.

That article means nothing...whats the difference between hemp and 0% potency cannabis ? What the hell are they trying to say ?

calling this thread "Fucking Russians" is a bit naff if you ask me - David Oistrakh was a "fucking Russian" (and a Jew) and he was cool as fuck

being racist is not on, (unless of course it's about Americans, and that is just fine, naturally... wooohahahaha .... I jest....)

it's worth checking out about pollination distances, pollen behaviour etc. before devising such grand plans or making wild speculations

pollen is not as prolific as people often imagine, and it's heavier too

if any of the above were likely hemp would be a well-nigh homogeneous species

cheers 'n lovely,

Namkha
