just bought a box of brownies from the store. the directions on the box say to use oil. Can i use melted butter instead of oil? or will it come out effed up?
if anyone knows, let me know
I just recently had the same issue, just started cooking with Cannabutter 2 weeks ago. We must think alike
The brownies I made came out good, but the canna flavor came through. You know the way some deluxe brownies come with frosting on them? Well the wife suggested that, it really did the trick. Then I was comfortable sharing them with other patients. I've always heard that all these oils that are called for in receipes can be subsituted with butter. After all thats what Grandma cooked with.
Next project was Oatmeal cookies, I wanted something that could carry more butter without greasing out. They're the BOMB, I doubled the receipe and went a little strong on the butter. Out of about 55 cookies, 17 are cranberry, 18 are raisen, the rest are mine with milk chocolate chips! All with Pecan chips, too.
I learned that if I rolled the batter into a ball for each cookie and refrigerated them, the cookie would stand up real tall. Professional like, thick edges so you can wrap them up tight with saran for individual portions.
I'm sure you'll have adjustments and improvements, post'em up so we all can learn too.
i also am new to cannabutter i have read in another post to cook the cookies at 200 degrees for about an hour is this correct? hey rip can you tell me you temps and time on you cookies thanks

No.... you can bake your cookies at 350 degrees for 10-12 mins or as directed in your recipie. The cookie itself does not get to that temp, so no need to worry about the cannabis vaporizing. I dont go over 350 degrees with my baking though. Hope that helps.
YUP! you can substitute butter for oil. the recipe called for 1/3 cup oil. i used 1/2 cup butter; melted. ate 2 within the first hour, waited to see where i was at, then ate one 2 hours after the first two. wow. so high....
i had two left over brownies from New Years....and just heated 'em up and they were so great. I'm so mellow right now. Awesome! Brownies and Cookies are king!
I use the boxed brownies to make edibles very often. An important thing to note is how you can substitute the water called for in the recipe with more oil. I usually put around 150ml of oil into them and forget about water altogether. An easy way to greatly increase the potency of your edibles
