Not true oils trichs are a a defense mechanism one can claim a mother would take take care of her new born better then one that was adobted meaning
one can easily say the plant will in deed go further to protect her off spring then protect only a flower Here buddies seed run looks covered to me lol

I thought that scientists still didn't know for sure what the trichs are for, that it was just a theory that their reflective properties were to protect the seeds from heat?

Trichomes occur on numerous plants as well as exist in numerous forms and have varying purposes. The "sting" from Nettles is the result of a trichome. Trichomes on Sundews capture prey.

Are you physic man? I was just trying to look up if other cannabinoid producing plants, like echinacea for example, had something like a trich.

Not psychic just fond of plants. The cannabinoids in Echinacea are a somewhat different chemical class than those of cannabis yet they are classified as cannabinoids because it's been found with some species there is an affinity to cannabinoid receptors in humans.

i'm not aware of any strong studies on this
but i have noticed personally that potency is not well correlated with quantity of resin
the super sticky isn't always the most potent
i have seen a few posts where it was mentioned some terpenes don't enhance the cannabinoids, rather they inhibit them
it seems to vary from plant to plant, with the rare one being the keeper
which is kind of what we know already

I can definitely vouch for that. I have a nice potent sweet tooth cut thats absolutely covered in trichs, looks like it was snowed on. I have a ghanni that doesnt have nearly the resin coverage as the tooth, but its definitely more potent. I believe the quality of the oils in the trichs are more important than the amount of trich coverage. Thats my observation anyway.
