From milking cows to milking the system, Watch me turn my barn into a 7kw-8kw machine

im pullin up a seat for this one. everything looks awesome man. do you have any more pics of how you ran all the electrical stuff in the rooms(im interested in how you put the panel together and ran the wires)? i wouldnt mind seeing ventilation pics as well and how your going to run everything to the carbon filter(s). im sure its all going to be nice and clean and hidden is why i ask. building rooms always takes longer and costs more than you think if built right. keep up the good work!

I'd also love to see the ventilation setup, or at least hear about the design. Lately I've been using rigid duct for most things.

The additional 100 amps sure sounds like a nice addition, I'm extremely jealous!

I play many forms of cards.

ive always used insulated ducting and tried to run it out of the room as clean as possible and vented it out the chimney. idk if anyone has ever thought of this before, but that way if theres a heat signature comin off it looks more normal...

Ok guys sorry for not responding for a few days I have been busy! We got a lot done this weekend. Got the last wall framed and the ceiling vapor barrier up. Talk about a disgusting job just imagine 60 years of hay and bird shit falling all over you! And all the outlets were wired up and breakers installed. I went overboard and installed 16 20 amp breakers for all the different boxes installed throughout. Obviously i will never have that much going, in fact I don't expect more than 80 amps ever being used at once. Next weekends agenda is to get the ceiling insulated and sheeted(fun right), the back wall sheeted and maybe the the inside walls sheeted at least in the veg room. I'm so damn close to a finished room I can taste it or maybe that was the 60 years of barn funk errrr haha. I will take pictures of the finished work sometime this week for you guys.

On a side note I purchased a ProCom Digital thermostat controlled heater but am kind of worried about the flames light it gives off. DOes anyone know if blue flames will effect my light cycle?

Thanks again for all the kind words!

I am very interested in that question as well, I would think so; but what do I know. I have heard that candles can interrupt the cycle but that could be rubbish as well I have no clue. I will be patiently waiting with you for a response to that one. Hope you finish your design soon, it is intriguing.

Sup Heady! Things are progressing well :)

And Barn, ya gotta at least give us some teaser progress shots! Where's the framing- and outlet -y goodness?

I'm calling Internet Forum Rule 1: Pics or it didn't happen :nanana: :biglaugh:

Bump, I am just like everyone else very anxious to see this play out. To you and others like you thank you because these threads do so much for the home grower, atleast for me its inspiring and informative. I have about 5-6 years experience growing, but to see a project of this magnitude really helps. Good Luck with everything!!! oh yea just to follow up with others is this going to be soil, hydro or both and what strains do you plan on putting in there? :joint:

I am loving this thread! Can't wait to see how things are progressing in the barn. And by the way, how cool is it to actually farm weed in a barn?

That is pimp! :pimp3:

Where's our update?! If you're going to post a grow like this looks like it will be, we expect updates at most every 6 hours :biglaugh:

LOL sorry guys I didn't get the pictures taken yet I will try tonight!

FieldofDream- I understand completely it was OG and other boards like this that got me dreaming and seeing the possibility's. That is a big reason why I felt I should give back and help out others by documenting this. This is hydro all the way :)

Mole- HaHa i love it

Heady I will get right on that webcam ;)

Did anyone know much about the light given off by the heater? That really concerns me cause heating the rooms with propane heaters is something I will need to do. I just don't want to use electric heaters my bill is already going to be high enough. Also does anyone know where I can find a 8inch round t-duct? I have found Y-ducts but can't find a t-duct and that is very important for my ventilation set up I have planned. Thanks again everyone for the kind words!

I would assume that the light will be a problem...

I would go to an HVAC shop for something like that 8" T. Home Depot won't carry that.

Okay everyone sorry for the long delay in the updates but that doesn't mean I wasn't working on things!! This is such a massive project but its FINALLY close to done. All the electrical is in the in. The insulation is up and the sheeting is on the ceilings and walls of the veg room. The doors are framed but the homemade doors aren't built. I spent over 250 on the hardware alone for these doors there's no way anyone's breaking into this b!tch!! They better bring a blow torch and a tank!!

I am working all weekend day and night both days this weekend to finally finish things up. All supply's are bought and ready to go. Basically I need to: Sheet the outside walls, finish sheeting the bloom room, finish framing one door and finish building all doors, paint the walls, Patch up the concrete, build shelves for clones, get the light rails put up, and get the ventilation and lights put up!!! Basically I should be ready to go after the long weekend I have planned.

Unfortunately I don't have new pics right now but I will take those tonight for you all.

Good timing for me to find this one as i just deleted an old subscribed thread. This will be a nice one to follow. Sounds like you are embracing the 'do it right the first time' method. Once you're finished you'll be rolling in the buds!
For the light coming out of the propane heaters, i would say that this is likely to cause trouble with your lights off cycle. Some will tell you that hermies are genetic and all, but I think that even small light leaks in flowering will have some negative affects (hermies or not). Maybe you can find a way to heat the area where your intake air is coming from. i.e. run the propane heaters in an intake room that is outside of the grow area. Therefore, providing warm air that will be 'sucked' into your grow space from another room. I know this idea is not layed out to detail, but maybe it is something to think about.
at any rate, good luck! I will be following your progress.
