Bearfootlove-thanks so much for the heads up on that, so i guess things wil be back in order soon enough. i cnat wait cause these NYCD plants are taking off!!! i really need to star production on the bigger closet now that i was able to get some of teh junk out of my garage. 3x4x7 should do teh trick for flowering. you think i could hold about 20 x 3gl grow bags in there or maybe even more, i want to either max out my light footprint or get a 600HPS for it. i wanna go with the big toys for that one, the pro/hood,filter-scrubber, bulb, CO2 (maybe) and all that!!!. buti do want to be careeful in my design because i want to make a closet that i can breakdown and take with me, ive mentioned this beofre, but thats just how iimportant that is to me.
i figure i might as well put the work in now so that when movin time comes, i can jsut set it up , instead of having to drag stuff through the new place (new place = new eyes, security risks, you know the deal)

THE MICROWAVE QUICK DRY METHOD: ILLUSTRATED
right out the gate, let me tell you that this is not my original idea, i got it from another thread on here and didnt see any pics of how to do it. i am a visual learner more so than written so i wanted to experiment with a method i personaly love. its the microwave quick dry method for quick tastes of what your garden/plants have to offer you, but mainly for me, since i have been buying lil bits here and there, i thought that, that was crazy since i have damn near a 1/2 pound of bud of my own just waitng. and besides i need to pad this diary unitl those NYCD go into flower!!! well anway here we go. . .
Heres the list of supplies that you’ll need to get things started:
-fresh picked popcorn buds
-microwave safe container (the one you see here is about 8”x4”x1” to give you an idea)
-paper towels
-water
STEP 1.
You’re going to need 3 pieces in total. Take one piece and rip it into four pieces.
STEP 2
Then take the other two pieces ,put them together and tri fold them. I used the trifold since it allows you to make the paper wider or shorter depending on the size of the container you will have to use. As long as you fold it so that there is some overlap on the sides of the cover, you should be ok
STEP 3
Take one piece of the paper towel you ripped and put it at the bottom of the container. Place the buds on top of the paper and make sure no part of the raw bud is touching the bottom of the container. Then take your trifold , wet it and squeeze out the excess moisture. Like the original tutorial said, it ahs to be wet but not dripping wet.
STEP 4
Take your lid and put it on top of the container with the buds inside, press to seal the sides of the container but try to leave a corner open for the steam to escape from the container. Check again to make sure that the bud is on top of the paper towel, and now you are ready for the microwave.
STEP 5 (x 5)
Place container in microwave,
Your going to set your timer to 1 minute
And your power to 4
As soon as its finished you take the container out, make sure the buds are still on the paper and take the top off to let the steam escape for about 30 secs
***NOTE: at times the paper that the bud rests on will collect water/moisture, so remember you have those extra pieces just in case. If you notice the paper towel wet, then just take the buds off and replace the paper with a fresh piece
WHAT TO REMEMBER:
- repeat step 5 as many times as needed , back to back, in order to dry the bud to your liking. with the lil buds i used it took about the entire 5 times.
-after about the 3rd time, you will notice whatever longer leaves getting crispy/brittle. please do not use this as an indicator that your bud is dry. after you take you bud out of the microwave after each one minute burst, , the 30 secs, your letting it sit, chekc it by pressing the bud itself to feel whether its dry enough or not.
-it was advised in the original thread not to use this methid to dry and entire crop, but , uh i dont have to tel you guys that right?
-smoke is kinda harsh and yes you do lose some flavor, but as in the original thread the trichomes do stay intact
I hope you enjoy this method as much as i have. it defintely helps out when your (like me) ina dry spell and your wating for your crop to finish

i topped one , and the tops are kinda fighting for light, so i gotta get some better lighting in there, i was looking at homdepot, and they have a 150MH that i just may get soon for veg but thats pretty much it for now.

Damn dude you got some nice stuff; I miss my bowls; I had a sherlock bubbler that hit like mad dog from hell and my kid knocked it over when he was using my bathroom; at least the pigs never got there hands on it; would rather have my kid break it then the cops take it anyways lololol'

man stitch!!! let me tell you, there are many things going on in my grow that have changed my mind about alotta ways to grow. these plants are in recycled soil, didint add a thing to them and have been feeding them just as i feed my SSH with pH'd water and molasses and they are doing fine.
i did want to ask you tough, now that your here, i was hoping you could point me in the direction of some pics of preflowers. i bought a microscope , the x100-x60 radioshack brand, and i wasnt able to see ,or what i think, are the preflowers. i was trying my best to bend the plants to get the monocle as close as possible and ended bending the tops and the nodes wher i notice the preflowrs to be. so they wil wnt a break from me bending them any furher i am sure.
im jsut guessing , but they looked to be kinda long and slender adn not round as the male pollen sacks tend to look. and no (lol) i wasnt looking at those longer leaf "things" that grow on the sides of the nodes (i know theres a name, but it escapes me at the moment)

i had to go oldschool for those, but they are actually 70 watters that are converted security lights, i dont know if youve ever seen the regents:dusk tildawn security lights conversion instructions. i think they were started on OG and are stil flaoting out there somewhere. if you really need em, you can do a google search (or maybe even search on here) and see if it pops up.Herbatonist said:

but they are healthy as hell though. if any thing i am damned glad i decided to stepup the nutes in teh soil mixes i have used as examples to mix my own. im sure someone on her would say, " oh you forgot this" or "oh you forgot that", even though they look fabulous with what i am groing them under, but it must be the soil then, but no one wants to admit to it, so i stay in my own lil corner and watch with the rest of IC.

so i want to take some pics becuase my new dilemma has been trying to find out what these preflowers look like and try to get some opinions as far as what they may or may not look like. and the god damned bateries for my camera are gone!!! adn those are the lithium type , so they just dont fit into any old thing! i really am so ****ing pissed.

right now i jsut want to see if i can spot a preflower or two. thisone is 22" , so i thought i would be able to see some on here and i didnt. i saw this one and the double mainstem one under my microscope
the double stemmed one had some leaf matter protruding but i saw nothing that would make it male or female, i guess its too early to tell, gotta give it about one more week or two, give everything time to fill out.
heres some pic some may enjoy. .

Out of 3 Lowes, and 2 Home Depots out where I live, none of them carry the 70w Home Security HPS lights : It's sad, I know. I wish I had those bad boys! They would be PERFECT for my grow box! well i am excited on alL fronts!! tonights the night i give my final watering for my SSH!!! that means they get the chop in seven days and i am gonna have room to do what need to do for my NYCD BABY!!!!!!!!!

wow, a whole new year as started and im jsut updating this thing now, sheesh, i am teh worst!!!lol
but to be honest i seem to have finally got bit in teh ass with this cold weather were having and since its a garage i think those plants have taken their final toll from this weather. i thought they woudl have been alright and on some days it wasnt worth the watering since everything was freezing.
i was supposed to water the other day and decided to not bubble the 5gl bucket of water i normally do but a 1gl bottle. . . needless to say it became a ice cube over night. went to the store, bought a 1gl bottle of water, pH'ed it and fed, and the plants are looking very droopy, like they are dying or something.
i noticed small pockets of water had formed when i last watered and this morning wehn i went to check teh plants those pockets were frozen, so i can only imagine that the water inside of the rootzone froze aswell, cause they are really not looking good at all. will post pics tomorrow morning.
