Greeny have you been growing long bro?Listen all this fighting aside, this is exactly the outcome I weas trying to avoid, someone being confused about indoor photoperiods. You say you understand and learned a lot,I tihnk what you've "learned" here is of no real valur unless you want to be a scientist or something. If you're growing indoors,12/12 is the only flowering period you need to be worried about, some plants like sativa's like a little more dark like 11/13,but 12/12 is what you need to know.Thats all man and if you're going to err 15 or 20 minutes each way,its best to err so you have longer dark time than light.

Gee its ballastman out to save the world from unsavory information....

I told you you couldnt shut up....

Sometimes ballastman some of us want to know things for the sake of knowing them....

Which doesnt interest you in the least apparently....

Save us from your sermons ok????

Ballastman is telling you that 11-13 is perfectly ok for sativas

this was posted recently by rosy cheeks....

Ballastman dont read this as it has been done by scientists....

If you do it will give you a hissy......

I agree and disagree with some of the inputs in this thread. First of all, cutting down on the light hours is hardly ever a good idea.
In 1973, two researchers (Valio and Valle) tested the influence on cannabionid content in Cannabis Sativa with different light cycles.
In short, they came to the conclusion that the longer the uninterrupted light cycle was, the higher the cannabinoid (THC) content in the plants.
In fact, between plants grown under 10 hours of light and 12 hours of light, the cannabionid content was twice (!) as high in the 12/12 test group. The researchers concluded that Cannabis needs 12/12 or 13/11 of uninterrupted light in order to reach maximum cannabinoid content. Here's an abstract of their research, the entire study can also be downloaded on the same site (UN office of Drugs and Crime):
http://www.unodc.org/unodc/bulletin..._1_page008.html

If you want to cut down light hours on a strain to finish it faster (or force finish a stubborn sativa that refuses to mature), know that when you rush things, you always loose out on quality and quantity. The plant produces flowers and resin up until late flower stage. Therefore, light cycles should never be shortened before peak flower stage, and preferably only in the very last week of the grow.

tons of growers I know alter their photo period to mimic the way it happens in nature.
the days don't go straight to 12 12 matter of fact its a very very gradual thing. Tends to be old school growers that swear by the slow gradual change to 12 12. but everyone has their opinions, I just stick to 12 12 for flower but theres a million different ways to do anything the right way.

Nothing....thats exactly why its so funny :pointlaug , its just one of those things people throw in when they are pissed off like "and your not coming to my birthday party!" and i think it was funny, hilarious even. i have every intention of using a wick cloner once my babies are big enough to take cuttings from. This thread has deteriorated into nothing more then bitch fight oogle, the thread starter got his answer, thanked everyone and left pages ago man so dont talk to me about whats relevent to this thread....

and I belive its spelt Dumbass.

My friend did the same. Now to the question. Is there any harm done with 13/11 instead of 12/12?
I didnt want to start a new topic,

He is growing a strain he growed sometimes Before. He is in week 5 now. And he is saying that the volume is less, the hairs are more orange ( he is growing hydro and usually only have White hairs untill week 6-7.

He just switched back to 12/12, what will happen?
Is the volume reduced? How is the potency gonna be? Do he have to cut them Before ?

He just told me that he found some seeds in the buds. The seeds are still green, and there is at least 1 seed in all the top colas. The hairs are about 70% brownish on the colas.

He removed about 3-4 seeds i Think, crushed them and confirmed it was seeds.

What will happen with his grow? How much reduced is the yeild? When should he cut them? Should he wait 8 weeks? They are in week 4 ½ now.
please help
