Just for your info man that's going to be extremely difficult if not impossible to do unless you really know wtf you're doing. The math doesn't add up to me.

7 lbs is 3164 grams so to even get 7 lbs you need to hit ~1.6 gpw, not an easy task, especially with the 21 plants. to hit 10 lbs which is 4520 grams you'd need to hit 2.27 grams per watt! :yeah If you can do that you are a cannabis cultivating expert in my book, (although long veg periods and SOG or vertical make it much easier to do, its still impressive) Most will agree I think, but if you post a journal I'll watch it and see what you can do, if you can hit 2gpw with such confidence we'd all love to hear how you do it and replicate :) its 4 the community man :smoweed: good luck i hope you hit your goal ill be rootin for ya:joint:
I set my goal, I intend to get as close as possible. 1gpw should be easy peasy, which is pretty much a given for a cheapo vertical system. now if we upgrade from cheapo to better, and start with some training. 25% more isn't too far fetched. with a few more little tricks, scrog + higher stress training/pruning/topping and co2, I dont see 1.5gpw too far off the scale, which I guess is what I am technically going for. I do have a pretty good system though

would anyone like to comment on the safety of vertically hung lights? I have talked to some folks about this lighting system...and they are scurred that it is a dangerous setup...

search my posts I talk about it in a few of them, theres not too much in my build thread, but if you have the time go through them. I don't post too often.

but its a tightly enclosed 2000w vertical scrog. its hard to put into words what I'm working with, so y'all have to wait till I get things going and post some pics... then you'll be like... ohhhhhhhh

I gave up Krusty buckets long ago for coco buckets due to all the work and complexity involved. This plant (grown in coco) is an example of what is possible. If it were grown Krusty style it would be about 30% larger.
The clone was given to me by Krusty himself in a bar one cold winter night, years ago. I hope he is doing well.

I agree! I just hope I can get 3lbs off of 24 plants with 2200 watts. 3 week veg time??

very doable...

that is ~56g per plant... w/ a 2-3 week veg, should be able to achieve your goal... to cut down on that, veg under same light regime w/ 20/4-22/2 light cycle...

depending on strain+container size, veg time can equate to twice to amount in yield... if vegging under 1ks...

would trim all lower shoots & growth after 7-10 days of flower. try to get 1-2 tops max per plant... 2-3 gallon pots should be enough too...

enjoy your garden!

dear god! lol how many vert 1k's do you have in that room?

and not much has been said regarding actualy veg times for trees, is 4 weeks enough for 5-6 monster yielders or is 6-8 necessary (I know its partially strain dependent but just as a general guideline) im talking about maximum yield off a plant with the least amount of veg time, you know like that sweet spot.

it can be relative I know, but if running a perpetual garden with an 8-9 week finisher, you will only have 4-5 weeks of veg time, so what do you guys think, is 4-5 weeks good enough for 1.5lb trees?

1 1k hung vertically will grow trees. just limit plants to 4 per light... @ least 4x4x4 area per finished plant.

4 weeks is good time to veg for trees... veg in 5 gal bucket, under same 1k(s), until plant is ~2-3 cubic feet (2x2x2-3x3x3). 8 weeks 18/6 is solid 1#+...

want ~4-5# wet weight should give ~1+# dry... should get ~20-25% total dry weight from 100% of wet weight...

this can be done by vegging to size of a large bush, or 3x3x3... this is the avg harvest size of plants viewed on icmag; or a big bush. so want to veg to big bush size & then start flowering...

another way to measure whether time o flower or not is to check for roots coming out of bottom of 4-5 gal buckets. just as would do for smaller container. when roots have colonized media of 4-5 gal bucket & are coming out of drainage holes, time to flower...

can reduce veg time significantly by vegging under same 1ks (4 per plant), in @ least 4-5 gal bucket, & running 20/4, 22/2 or 24/0... 18/6 takes longer w/ no noticeable benefit for more dark time in veg...
4-5 weeks of veg time is plenty under 20+hrs light regime. pruning, training & thinning is generally done during this time. dont want big tree that is full of cherry tomatoes - which can happen... however, member teresa from this thread

New Tree Room.....
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=132491

justs lets plants express themselves...

18/6 takes longer w/ no noticeable benefit for more dark time in veg...

enjoy your garden!

thank you for that, I just read that thread by teresa actually, great info.

im gonna veg the crap out of them and then flower them in the same medium/pots with the same or stronger lighting.

im thinking 4 plants with 3400w arranged kbs style, u know what I mean. With a supercharged rdwc bio bucket system I think I could def get 5lb's dry from 4 plants vegged for 4-5 weeks with a good strain. yea or na?

I've always done what Krusty recommended. 4 buckets in a diamond pattern with 600s in the corners and a 1000 in the middle. Veg 4-5 weeks AFTER prevegging using HID lighting. But of course this depends entirely on how fast your strain grows.

I can`t believe this thread`s still kickin.........Hadta re-register for at least the 20th time just ta say Hello to Blind Date that hooked me up to Shur-flo pumps that automated my coco moms for my vertical flip rooms...........

I`m retired now due to a nuthin-ass rat fuck snitch that rolled on a CLOSE Bro of mine like 350Z did ta Joe Schmoe, so since they took his hard drive that I was all up in on a daily basis I killed everything and shut down....8 flip rooms at 4 locations shot ta hell along with all the equipment sittin in storage gatherin moss........Joe Schmoe and Cannapits ......Luvs yas both and Godspeed.........

I visited back a lil while ago before shit went down so that`s why I was here and gone in a matter of days.....Since I`m in the Hell of one of the most UN-friendly NON med states, I just had way too much to lose.....

I`ve never turned down anyone on advice or knowledge I`ve gained over the yrs so if anyone here really wants to grow krusty buckets then fire away......LEO can`t do DICK to me since I`m such an upstanding law abiding citizen and pillar of my community these days...................

SYK was here awhile back spewin shit but he didn`t stay that I`ve seen or he would`ve already come in and swore all the innovations and improvements that were discussed and put into functioning setups in this thread were all his shit but I digress.........

Blind Date`s right as far as light placement and plant setups in 10 x 10 rooms and he`s got the goods ta prove it.......Excellent pics Bro to say the least.........The Klown would be proud of yas......He and I had a falling out as my older posts in this thread have shown but I still respect the hell out of him and like you BD , I certainly hope he`s doin well regardless of our petty bullshit ego`s clashing like pitbull`s where neither backs down .....

SYK was an opportunistic dick with ears that talked Krusty into starting "their OWN" KBS site since Krusty`d been banned from every weedsite there was back in the day so that`s how SYK gained his notoriety by suckin enough dick till he got in the clique......

I joined here in `04 when it opened cuz Krusty`d been banned everywhere else as well as here but he snuck back in as Serapis on another ip addy and it didn`t take long before he was gone here too , thus the SYK collaboration creating KBSGROWERS.COM.......

Noone, Acry4help ,BlueHaze...Hell .......so many others my pore `ol head can`t even remember grew some monsters usin the basic rules but with their own twist and OMG the way it pissed Krusty off to no end was just short of side-splitting humor but I stood up for that bastard through it all regardless of his bullshit.........

Whadda Schmuck I was but I`m a pitbull and loyal to the end , but the end came and I got sick of the system regardless of how much money it made me over the yrs........and it was plenty @ minimum 40 lbs per yr .....

Back then no one had heard of perpetual grows or flip rooms so for a single 10 x 10 room that was way beyond ANYTHING anyone else had done except Krusty with his big ass multiple light commercial bldgs he was growing in.....SoQuick was a close second and one helluva grower too BTW......

I`ll say this again......This system is not for the novice by any means but hey if yas got the money I`ve got the time.......I also mastered ebb and flow bucket flip flop rooms as well as vertical rack/shelf flip rooms with coco DTW before my untimely retirement but E and F rooms took more plant numbers and the vertical rooms took even more but it was well worth it to me for the ease of simplicity.........KISS folks......Number 1 rule in my book.....

My `ol bro Heath Robinson was on the brink of hittin 2 gpw`s in smaller vertical bare bulb flip rooms with 3-600`s on top of each other like I ran with increased plant numbers and I was right behind him but when shit went down we all took our marbles and went home not ta play no more........Paranoia`s what`s kept me alive and well through all these yrs and ALL of you could do well not to trust ANYONE on weedsites......

I`ll grow again for headie`s some of these days but till my Brutha comes outta this bullshit , I`m down and out........He`s lookin at 15 yrs for helpin a piece of shit outta the goodness of his heart........just like our brother Joe Schmoe.......

My lil girlfriend Teresa has as close to a Krusty system as there is except with her lil twist on things and believe me..........Her shit Rocks........Go check her thread out if yas wanna grow trees......you`ll learn bunches from that lil lady...........

Purple Dom`s got a killer setup for DTW catchin the runoff and lettin the plants wick the runoff back up as the plants need it and that`s as brilliant an idea as I`ve seen in a while and trust me , I`ve been around since 95 when Dutch and UK weedsites began ......

I`ve seen em ALL come and go but simplicity always shines through without all the bell`s and whistles.......Mistress ....You rule......

Ok..........nuff shit outta me but hey.....we`re ALL here ta learn and knowledge is power so do your research folks........

Ya`ll take care .........Freds........:joint:

 post DHF...

thx for hon. mention of coco+perlite+wick method...... after kbs & aero-buckets, wanted kiss... anti-automation after multi-automation of kbs...

thx for sharing all that you did, when you could... & can... :ying:
