its hard to get a pic of the light coming in without a tripod and i cant fit one in there. im gonna lean a piece of plywood on the outside to shade the ac until i seal the damn thing with the proper stuff, whatever that may be. last night i hit every scrap of soil with gnatrol, fucking gnats were getting stuck to a couple leaves. chucked out my last giant gg4 mom, potted up the two medium ones to 5gal smarties. the 2gals they came out of had a super white furry mass of roots under the pots. impressive enough for me to want to take pictures of, but i was too lazy to walk back to the house for the camera

i prowled the plants looking for nanners from the light leak in the ac. didnt see any, but that didnt stop me from trying to tear open a few extra swollen calyxes with some brown pistils. no confirmed seed that i saw. im nervous as shit though. i got up at 7am thinking about it, ive only gotta make it another ten days or so. then i can tear the damn thing out and get into it (the ac)

Nope. If you read over the threads I talk about that bleachy / dill pickle type smell ALL THE TIME with this line.

That plant is going to put some sour funk into what he breeds, but if you look at the zig zagging of the stems - the more pronounced that is, the more the phenos tend to breed towards Chem D. Your leaves look very much like a combo between the Chem D and Sour D.

If you think about how the pringles guy mustache looks, then compare that to the last fans blades on a leaf set, curving in/forward and towards the middle fan blade - I began looking for plants that did this exact thing in their early leaf sets. I never came to any conclusions, but at the time, I was isolating plants that had this growth profile.

He grows more vertical than the male did. The male grew into a prefect christmas tree bush. Out as much as up and at the same rate.

Not the best pic of the mom, but I deleted so many and kept this one. Look at the last fan blade on each side of the leaf. Notice how they pull forward and towards center. Also notice the taller singular column of a center cola. This is the untrained, natural profile. What your male DOES NOT have in this comparison is over-lapping of the fan blades at the petiole. They are NOT as wide / bulbous - they don't flare out as much when approaching the tip of the fan blade.

I attribute this to the haze influence creeping through in your male a bit more than the mother plant alone.

When comparing it to the father, you can see that the spread and general shape / the way the fingers of the fan blades all sort of point rigidly straight out - is very similar to the male. You leaves actually look more compact and thinner yet. Your growth profile is also much more vertical and spread out over a couple main branches as opposed to a full on bush.

I'm going to say, what you have on your hands, is going to breed 10-12wk sour haze type plants with hints of chem funk in the background. Think...SSSDH but with less haze and more chem. Less lemony funk, more sour lime chem.

If you were REALLY leaning towards the sour/haze end of the spectrum it would look more like this - OJD's SSSDH cup winning cut:

Do notice though, the spread here on these leaves compared to your male. Also the growth profile is very similar. Be interested to see if your leaves start to thin out more as he flowers harder.

He's definitely a sour/haze type with some background chem in him. Should bred very well. AND POTENT. Keep him alive as long as you can. Seriously. This seed line was very special. Anyone with it should take every measure possible to preserve it.

Good luck and good vibes! Thank you for running our gear and posting him up for me to take a peek at. :respect:

whew what a grand and informative post! thank you frank. ive got three backup cuts of him chugging along to ensure this years breeding projects are covered. ill keep him going at least until i can dust a lazy female to make backup seed stock. first up im going to collect a ton of pollen off this dude while allowing him to dump on a gg4 and possibly a green crack. also, frank i should have mentioned that my male was topped once. i lopped a good six inches off the top to check his vertical. it was starting to get away from me a couple weeks ago. it occurs to me he might be getting too big for the tent i might end up breeding in. i think ill need my 5x5 to dry in and might have to do the first round of pollinating in a 2x2 i have already. i really need to set them up tonight.

its looking like plain old latex paint is the answer to fixing my styrofoam issues. i drug out a sheet of plywood to shade the ac anyway cause i gots the home stretch wigs

That male needs to be paired to Irene, Sour Dubble, and Lime Kush.

Oh sweet christ, this^. Yes.

That begs the question, where the shit can you score an Irene cut? She making the rounds now?

Regarding GG4 throwing nanners. I wouldn't say she throws them easily but I don't know how she does against light leak stress. I HAVE seen her throw nanners but it was already late in flower and it was most likely her being really cold down in the crawlspace, especially during lights out. Also, I ran her pretty probably to Day 67 or 8 the first time if I remember right. There was also a time when I ran her 76 days and that could have been it. I think just about anything will get stressed out when they get pretty cold like mine do during the winter. :2cents:

yeah id tap the irene in a heartbeat if i could find it. ill have the sour dubb as soon as a certain friendo gets off his ass. other than that looks like some pollen packs will have to get the ol hail mary in hopes of reciprocation.

ok so its thursday night, right?
day 56 - the mom is getting the chop tomorrow. ill post some macros then. shes gotten quite unruly but thats not why shes taking the fall a bit early. she does look much closer to being finished than the plants in the bed, but i need to bring her down so i can buy a new filter for scrubbing while i dry the rest of everything in a couple more weeks.
here she is

I see! Wow those colas look great man. And I bet you dont find hardly any seeds even though you've found one. The glue is definitely a tough girl...even with a little ac light leak.

I was paranoid about seeds in my glue a few runs ago. The very first cola I trimmed I cut into a calyx and there was a seed. I thought, "yep, I royally fukd this up!" Ended up being the only seed in the batch. :biglaugh:
