so its been a week or so since ive updated this thread i see. ive been pretty busy. i acquired some awesome genetics, and the caretaker neglected to water the tray so i lost them three days after i got them. :(
the round flowering in the big tent didnt stretch near as much as i thought it would. this is undoubtedly because of the soil not cooking long enough (which comes from me not soaking it enough early on)
it took a few days for the ph to even out after transplant and i lost that in vertical growth as well. i know all these things already. i need to get with it.
my tray of cuts still isnt rooted for the empty 600w tent. i popped them out last friday, no roots. checked last night, still nothing.
ill be back later tonight with a photoupdate.

Good to hear you back and 'round these parts again my friend :tiphat:

The other good news here is that you already know where the ball's been dropped (and how to carry it) - now just go pick it up and make another dash for the end zone. :D

Sucks on the genes, but the good news THERE is that I doubt we're talking about a polar bear, so I think there are probably more of those genes around..

ok. im finally going to post a grow show on here. my first. something ive wanted to do for a while now but it seems like my past few rounds have started out pretty shaky. my main reason for doing this is not to show but to learn. ive only been at this for a couple years now and it seems like theres so much to be had with growing cannabis ive barely covered the tip of the iceberg. any and all feedbacks are welcome here. my goal is to learn. and to help if i can.

setups

veg - growlab gl145 ( 4'9"x4'9"x6'7") tent lit with 4 ft. 4 bulb and 2ft. 4 bulb sunblaze t5. cooled via 4" eco+ supreme inline and 4" phresh filter. intake fan is a 4" dayton axial. fans controlled via thermostat at canopy.

bloom - growlab gl145L (4'9"x9'6"x6'7") lit with 3x 600w hps in aircooled yieldmaster II supremes. 2x magnetic ballasts and 1x digital. hortilux and sunmaster bulbs. cooled via 6" eco+ supreme and 6x24" phresh filter. intake fan is a regular sunbeam 8". Controlled with Sentinel CHHC-1

other - growlab gl145 lit with 600w lumatek (300w MH now) cooled via 6" vortex through 6" phresh filter. just started doing a full run in this tent now will be full time flower after.

ok. i do everything organic. i dont really consider myself a nazi about it but i think its important. for a while ive been recycling my peat based soilless soil and amending it with the usual, blood, bone, kelp, greensand, wormcastings, azomite, lime, diatomaceous earth, ect ect. i usually supplement with earth juice teas and molasses. i like to be primarily water only though. this round ive been relying more on peace of mind fruit and flower as my last couple rounds were screwy starting out in the soil and i cut my amendments way back this time. its worked out ok so far. will add some ej teas later.

im a big fan of root pruning pots. have used 2 & 3 gal. aurora root pots in the past but just switched over to the 3 gal. rootmaker something or others and i have been loving them. i dont have to water as much, rh is'nt as big of an issue, and they seem to work great. havent checked a rootball yet because this is my first round with them. theyre very sturdy.

ok water is just tap water, have great ppms where im at about 30 out of the tap. i bubble it overnight and have been hand watering this round. used blumats and drip lines in recent rounds decided to handwater this one for some reason. not so bad with the new pots.

plants this round are mostly cheese with some blue widow and one critical + all from dinafem. doing them in 3 gal pots 4 deep and 7 across with the odd crit+ on the end there by the fan

blue widows last row on left.

23 cheese, 5 blue widow and 1 critical+ for a total of 29 plants

i forget how many blue widow clones are in the other tent but it will end up with 16 flowering.

heres a shot of the bedroom with the two tents.

ok done for now more to come soon. i will happily answer any questions & please point out whatever comes to mind.
oh yeah, flowering plants are 15 days into 12/12

I am planning on doing a very similar setup to yours. I am going to be putting 2 tents in a bedroom. a 4x4veg/clone/mom and 4x8 flower. I have a 400, and 1000w MH, and a 600w HPS still trying to figure out what configuration I am going to use them in. My issue right now is ventilation. I cant go knocking holes in the walls and I want to be able to close the room up when needed. My only idea is to remove the light in the center of the room and use the hole to exhaust. Any advice or thoughts on setting up a similar setup please let me know thanks.

killer - thanks for stopping in always good to see you. ill have to go check out your digs.
nickel - what kind of ceilings are in the room you plan on building? what is your air conditioning situation? youll have to have direct AC, especially if you want to close the door. i would say use the 1000 and 600 in the 4x8 and use the 400w for veg in the smaller tent. obviously youd want to have two of the same size light in the big tent for an even footprint, but that will work good. you can remove the light and duct out through that, but without an intake from outside the room you will create alot of negative pressure. if you have flat ceilings id make some holes and duct in and out of that, leaving the air in the room to be cooled and cycled through the tents. sheetrock really isnt that hard to repair and paint. eggs and omelettes and all that... hth

Thanks for the advice, I have central A/C and I pretty much just close up alot of the registers in the house to get extra flow in the bedroom. I will have to figure something out to pull air in because I dont really want to do an intake from the attic because it gets so hot. I still have to run a second circuit for all the power I am going to need in that room. I will post some pics over here when the setup is all done if you would like.

sounds like your going to need a window unit nickel. your for sure going to have to cut holes. if your not worried about keeping the door closed, id say aircool lights with attic, put a fan in door to circulate scrubbed air with cool air in rest of house. if you want to close the door then your going to have to use a window unit or standalone, or keep pushing your ac real hard by forcing more air in there, run it all the time, maybe run new ducts in there, would help to aircool with attic and use window ac. thats what id do. im lucky to have a dedicated AC for my upstairs. sometimes it dosent keep up with my lights. (1k HID +600w T5 +1800w HID aircooled)
