agreed shroom. so i will run straight lines with 90s at the corners of the bed right? you still have to heat the damn tubing in hot water to make it flexible? wish there was an easy to deal with alternative to that...

and another thing... i let phil get a little rootbound and he got ballsy. i forgot he does that. in 24 hours i think he might have got a bit of the ogc. its too late for the seeds to mature all the way probably... whatever. i took 5 cuts off him and stripped him down to wait while they root.

also got some new stuff over the weekend... chem sis, firestorm and 2.0!

bout time to get dusty... hepa filter coming soon... then im gonna grab a mid range tent cause the gorilla is like 3 something and ill find a light to toss in there until i get the new 315 kits... real close my guys!

Hundred ways to skin a cat, especially with drip when getting into specifics with emitters and all the little tweaks you can add...

But based on last layout I could see (3 x 6 layout of plants in a 4' x 7' bed), here's what I'd do... Always prefer to keep it cheap and simple...

Mini stakes with open flow or just straight supports for open 1/4" feed lines. Valve coming off the pump as well as a valve on the anti siphon going back into the res for better flow control. Multi feed lines per plant for redundancy in case of failure (clog, feed line slips support, extra hungry plant, etc). Also assuming the beds have the ability to drain somehow.

And lines in the bed for sure due to leaks ^^

Good vibes

I'm relatively in shape with long ass arms, so the reach isn't my primary concern. Absolutely if limited, throw the loop around the edge of the bed. 1/2" tubing is cheap, so a little extra certainly won't hurt...

They have flexible 1/4" soft line that doesn't need to be heated. 1/2" is generally rigid, and you can get away with relatively straight runs there, so shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I used google sketchup for the quick drawing. I use that along with AutoCAD fairly regularly for the day job, but google sketchup is a great free source for doing little things like this... 2D or 3D, lots of possibilities.

1/4" feed lines between plants works well also given your proposed plant spacing. You'll have enough lines throughout the bed where in between, right at base, or a mix of the two should work without issues.

Congrats on the progress, some nice sounding cuts, I'll be watching ;)

I use my mapp gas torch. Obviously far away from the work! I use it to straighten drip lines. The 1/4 100ft coil is a bastard.

I heat the end of the drip line to get it onto the fitting too. And If I use a dripper I heat again. Speeds me up 3 times.

So let's say I come out the mainline with a 1/4" 90. I put the 90 into the mainline. Heat up end end of 1/4" drip tube. Then install. Now you got 2ft of coiled mess drip line. That makes me nuts. So I hold the end and pull it tight; 90 is on other end. Get it?

One hand holds tube straight the other is Mapp gass back and forth. Rather fast please or you will burn tube. Then put down mapp gas grab plain water sprayer. This spray cools tube fast. Voila straight tube quick.

Then you can get creative and bend tubing up and into pots. Then set it hard with the sprayer. Bend, turn whatever.

I was a swimming pool contractor for 15 years. High end Hawaii. Lots of Valves, Pumps, Actuators, Dosers you name it. I am an excellent plumber. I apply pvc heating/bending techniques to irrigation.

The 1/2 inch poly is easy to work with, no need to heat when connecting. Warming will make it easier, but it's not very rigid plastic pipe. Pretty cheap, 500 ft for 50-60$.

You could get away with using only one 1/2 inch T in the bed, making a loop, with however many 1/4 inch feeder lines going to plants. Maybe a cleaner look to get four elbows and make a square out of 1/2 inch " main" line and then add the 1/4 inch.

An option if your considering new drip or soaker hose is the blu mat controlled ones. They sound easy to set up, and the uniformity in moisture control sounds hard to match. Even if you're already dialed it's suppose to increase trich production.

i have a lot of blumats already but i dont use them for a reason. i had one run away on me when i got them forever ago when they first became a thing... i was an idiot though. was my second run with them and a few days in i had to leave town for a few days. they were installed in a tent on the second floor of a rental house... thank god the old growlab held true. came back to 20 gallons of water in the bottom of the tent from one dripper.

so i tried a new recipe for chocolates...

hot cocoa holiday hash chocolates

3.5g bubble hash (pre decarb weight)

330g chocolate (i use the 110g ghirardelli milk chocolate bars)

2 tbs coconut oil

4 tbs hot coco mix

6 tbs marshmallow bits

1 tbs vanilla extract

picture.php

2 3.5g batches before decarb

picture.php

picture.php

decarb hash for 22 min at 220 F.

(forgot post decarb pic, its dark and ugly anyway)

melt coconut oil in small non stick saucepan on very low heat. i like to lean mine on the burner so it pools in the edge of the pan. drop hash into oil, dissolve while agitating with non stick spatula.

break chocolate into bits and stir it into oil

picture.php

after chocolate is totally melted from constant stirring with spatula, add vanilla, stir more, using the silicone spatula to press any bits down into the pan to mush them good. (this technique also useful for dissolving hash)
then add cocoa, stirring furiously all the while. it wont dissolve all the way, leaving a sandy texture that i actually kinda like.
at the last minute, toss the marshmallow bits in.
then spoon it into the molds!

picture.php

picture.php

put them in the fridge until you can remove them from the molds

picture.php

this made 30 candies in my molds for about 65-70 mg thc each

drop one in your hot morning coffee to jazz it up or chew it for a crunchy mouthfeel!

I got a good one for you guys. Back in '91 hydro tech hardly existed. I had a bulkhead fitting jerry rigged. It cracked and 100G res leaked out. Third floor in an apartment building. I was growing in two bedrooms. The bathroom stepped down 3 steps from there. So all the water found its way down to the bathroom floor.

I called the boys and we removed plants that night around 3AM. The downstairs renter returned the following day to find his bathroom ceiling on the floor!! All the plaster just dropped! Cue visit from a plumber. By the grace of God there was a small leak under my tub!! So they thought it just built up and then the bubble broke through.

I think we can safely refer to that as a close call!!
