Freebird sucks, so does Stairway....

Those two songs in particular overrated? Yea, I'd have to say so. They are often considered to be two of the greatest rock songs in history, whereas people that listen to that type of music in general couldn't care less about those two songs compared to what else is out there. Zeppelin is an awesome band though, I wouldn't say they're overrated in general. I'm more of a Floyd fan myself, a more clever and talented band IMO.

The great thing about classic rock and 80s rock is you can pretty much see the touring acts again.

The problem with classic rock is that after spending some time in your life listening to it (a classic rock phase), it just kind of irritates you after a while.

And forget classic rock stations on the radio.. or radio in general. Any genre of music you listen to on the radio (out of the handful of genres most US radio plays) is amazingly clear-channelized... so really, just tape an hour of it and put it on loop.

I saw led zepplin at madison square garden in 74, it was a great show. At the time led zep was the shit, but so much good music around back then. A few years ago my friend and I walked into a bar and saw these older long haired guys there.. i bumped into one and spilled my beer and gave him a dirty look. I found out later it was members of the Lynard Skynard band. Everyone was in awe of the. I walked up to the lead guitarist and bass player and said I loved their music and could i buy them a beer? They said ok, and they were really cool people. I sat at the bar next to the lead guitarist and we had a nice conversation which lasted on and off for an hour.
It was refreshing to see rock stars so down to earth... They were never my favorite but freebird was ok once in a while.. BTW.. the lead singer was drunk and was a bit of an ass... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he was drunk.
