Can you still see it listed on ebay, cuz I can't?
Afaik you can't really patent seeds. (Gmo maybe?) Each seed is an individual and different. You can register a trademark though. I'd think you can reproduce what ever the hell you want, you just can't call it the same thing if it's trademaked.
Usually in agribusiness people seem to both patent the genetics, and then register the trademark separately. That gives them better protection for their product.
Here's what pisses me off about the name game....what the hell is this plant really? Is it a sativa, an indica? Where did the parents come from? I'm guessing Indian Landrace origins, but who knows right? At least Freakshow is better than CookieFruitPurpMeister but only marginally.
Of course that leads to the next rabbit hole of Pineapple Express and Banana Kush...all these names...what do any of them really mean? Show me the place they came, their actual origin. The only one I know so far is Big Sur Holy Weed which I have in Zapateca tribute which I just popped...
So this plant is a mutation that appeared in a polyhybrid and it seems to breed true, at least with itelf it sounds like?
So my understanding of all this breeding stuff is very limited. If one were to pick a plant to cross with the Freakshow, can you get the off spring to pick up the ruffle trait if you breed back and forth? Let's say you had male and female Freaks and your male and female cross selection, whatever that may be. If you just keep going back and forth do you eventually get to something stable with the ruffle trait?
