Thanks Guys.
I'm guessing because I use the eBay app in the USA it won't allow searches of eBay.ca I know damn well I've ordered stuff from Canada before.
Weird.

When I click on the link it takes me right to the page but opens it in my app. I just bought a pack. I immediately searched again, nothing can be found.
weird.

Here's what pisses me off about the name game....what the hell is this plant really? Is it a sativa, an indica? Where did the parents come from? I'm guessing Indian Landrace origins, but who knows right? At least Freakshow is better than CookieFruitPurpMeister but only marginally.

Can you still see it listed on ebay, cuz I can't?

Afaik you can't really patent seeds. (Gmo maybe?) Each seed is an individual and different. You can register a trademark though. I'd think you can reproduce what ever the hell you want, you just can't call it the same thing if it's trademaked.

Usually in agribusiness people seem to both patent the genetics, and then register the trademark separately. That gives them better protection for their product.

Not by the link that's posted. I just tried.
But I never could find it just by searching on eBay. Weird

Thule CannaRed The eBay.ca vendor with the Freakshow seeds now has them listed as "freakshow spinach", type that in the eBay search engine. . l guess to get by the eBay censors that frown upon the selling of cannabis seeds for some reason. l just ordered a pack last night. Looking forward to popping these beans.

According to the original breeder, shapeshifter, the original mutation phenom came from the cross Pineapple Express x (BSHW/Banana Kush), I think I remember reading somewhere that it was from F2s.

Thanks Breadwizard. :)

Of course that leads to the next rabbit hole of Pineapple Express and Banana Kush...all these names...what do any of them really mean? Show me the place they came, their actual origin. The only one I know so far is Big Sur Holy Weed which I have in Zapateca tribute which I just popped...

So this plant is a mutation that appeared in a polyhybrid and it seems to breed true, at least with itelf it sounds like? I have some seeds in the way so will have to try it. :D

I managed to score from both eBay and KwikSeeds so I have a bunch of these. Also a pack of BerryFreak from Irvine, but those will have to wait. In the meantime I popped two Freaks the other day and they already show ruffles.

Pineapple Express is a C99 hybrid and Banana Kush is an OG hybrid..

Yes but there were six generations of selection/stabilization to get there. Well I guess technically seven if buying the repros and not from Humboldt.

So my understanding of all this breeding stuff is very limited. If one were to pick a plant to cross with the Freakshow, can you get the off spring to pick up the ruffle trait if you breed back and forth? Let's say you had male and female Freaks and your male and female cross selection, whatever that may be. If you just keep going back and forth do you eventually get to something stable with the ruffle trait?

Yes.
Basic dominant/recessive Punnet square calculations.

Lookin good Texas! You'll be quite delighted when it really gets going. They are a complete joy to grow, especially if you like the pinnate leaves!
