Hi all

Just wondering what additives people use with the 3 part system (grow big, tiger bloom, big bloom). Doesn't have to be organic or anything, just trying to Keep it simple.

Oh yeah, and also using FF Ocean Forest potting soil/Pro mix with perlite.

Thanx

Hey dude,

Check this out

http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/SoilSystems_FF_Feed.pdf

I just used this exact schedule except for sledgehammer (not on the market yet) and it worked out great. Foxfarm's additives are pretty good.

Check out my signature for more info. This was my first time using foxfarm nutes and it worked out great.

edit: forgot to mention, I also use superthrive the entire grow (4 drops / gallon).

4 weeks before harvest I start using molasses with the nutes. The last 2 weeks I only water with molasses and superthrive, no nutes.

GL man!

well I've used FF gear for years.

generally use GB, BB, TB as adds to the FFOF/perlite

my experience:

"Grow Big" bottle lasts me about 2 years LOL...since mosty grow cuts w/ short veg time, and use super small doses on moms and clones

"Big Bloom" again lasts me a long time...mainly use it in veg. and very small amts in flower.

"Tiger Bloom" I drain this shit. I use it a lot in flower (usually about 1.5 Tablespoon/gal) on most flower waterings...and a Tiny bit of BB

I also supplement FFOF w/ dol. lime

I'm about done w/ all My FF gear tho, and am switching to Flora Nova Grow and Bloom

From initial experiments w/ it it's def. better overall than FF, but I've only beem using it in the soil and grow in the cloner.

I'm set to switch to hydro soon, and thats why it's on hand already.

my plants also love maxicrop seaweed

NoKuy-Do you think that Floranova Grow and Bloom is substantially better that the FF lineup?

For soil grows specifically

Widow Maker--Do you think just the liquid concentrates (Grow Big, Bloom, Tiger Bloom) are sufficient, or would you recommend the solubles also (Cha-ching, beastie, open sesame)

Thanx for all the help

I'd say without a doubt.

but keep in mind that I don't test my PPMs or anything like that... I just give my plants what they seem to like. (you'd have to mess around a bit to figure it out if your adding it to soil that already has some nutrition)

From the second I gave them any FloraNova..they told me how much more they like it. (I started off really small doses w/ it)...like 1/2 tsp per gallon amts...and figured I could up the dosage safely...trust me you'll see a HUGE difference immediatly....just start off small.

nothing wrong w/ FF gear tho.

You should look into picking up the FF granular additives. If you're not too far into flowering you can get all 3. I haven't used mine yet but will be using Beastie Bloomz for the first time next watering. I've heard a lot of good news about these products. I also use hygrozyme and liquid karma.

I use Open Sesame for the first 2 weeks, kicks them into flower and shortens the stretch.

i've honestly never used the ferts without the solubles... but, im guessing they will still do nicely either way.

thanx guys for all the responses

I will use Foxfarm nutes and soils, and let the ic community know how it goes

Strains will be Nirvana WW and ICE, and sweetooth from SOL

fox farm works great, im using it for my outdoor grow.

you can use the reccomended dose for all the nutrients, but use half strength for the powder additives or youll get a fat case of nute burn.

good luck magoo

I have the Fox Farm Grow big and Big bloom but not the Tiger bloom, if i dont go with the TB what can i use instead?
i want to keep it simple, i have great soil ready for this so maybe just one more product. thanks. be cool

You guys, please dont laugh... I have been using Miracle Grow on tomatoes for years. When I started my first grow (A few months ago) I used Miracle Grow potting soil, MG for Tomatoes food, and MG for blooms. I had an alright havest and learned a lot. I am cloning those plants now and looking for a plan to get more and better stuff in a soil grow sog. I see all of this talk about fert and soil you must have to go online to get (as opposed to going to the local nursery) and I am wondering it probably must cost more. So is this the plan for a better harvest than my first using the MG stuff? I am one that most definately hates to get caught up in a cultural name game or popularity contest with products. I would most definately buy into it if it was percentually better though. I know I am asking for trouble and maybe even deflecting the actual point so if you want to answer PM go ahead so we can maintain the integrety of this thread.

i used FF ferts untill i learned the bad tiger bloom was what was ruining my garden, i only use FFOF soil and big bloom the rest of my ferts are as follows

liquide karma
diamond necture
cal mag+
sweet
seaweed extract
pure blend pro grow
indoneasion guamo and bud swell

for excat dossages i use read my Memory Loss grow thread :)

do yourself a big favor shake the FF bottels before ya buy them if you hear any solids in the bottel dont buy it.
grow big has shelf life 2yrs when stored properly
tiger bloom has shelf life 2yrs when stored properly
big bloom has 3yr shelf life when stored properly

something to keep in mind any solids built up on outside of bottel top or solids shake inside = Bad FF ferts if you use your garden will suffer JJ scoripo has a thread on the subject of bad FF ferts

Magoo:

Check my threads. I have several I am in.

I began my grow in hydro and was using FF nutes BigBloom and TigerBloom. I'm still using them.

I repotted them in soil after 33 days in hydro and I was killing them. long story, but I was burning them and/or bad pH management. As you will see below, they are quite happy now.

I have 2 Ice and 2 Aurora Indica that are in day 16 of flower. One of the Ice plants is 44inches tall now. It went from 17inches at day 33 when I repotted and went 12/12...to 44 inches 16 days later. My other Ice plant is smaller. about 34 inches now.

Be CAREFUL about Ice. They are touchy about nutes. Work up slowly. When in hydro I noticed the Ice were much more affected than the AI were. Others have said Ice can be cranky too. Go SLOW with nutes.

In my current soil grow....I mixed in blood meal for long term N release. I also have some bat guano that has some N readily available. During this first two weeks of flowering I have been watering every 3rd or 4th day. I use plain water for 2 watering, then water with FF Tigerbloom at 1/2 teaspoon/gallon. So far not a hint of burn. So I would go easy on nutes if I were you.

Enlarge them
Ice #2 after I trimmed this AM. Be repotting all 4 of them to 4 gallon pots next day or so. This is the 44inch one

This is the shorter Ice pheno about 34inches

Blow this one up. this is Ice #2 at day 14flower. Look closely at the fan leaves. Good color and even the tips are perfect. IMO this is what you want to see.

WOW guys, a lot of great info for people interested in Foxfarm nutes.

Hey Major--do you ever have problems mixing ferts from different companies?
Also, why do you think the tiger bloom was ruining your garden?

Great community, where has IC mag been all my life? :wallbash:

n/p as of yet

why do you think the tiger bloom was ruining your garden? when i shook the bottel i would hear solids inside rattiling around and crystals built up on outside top of bottle. now some times the crystals on outside of bottel could mean excess fluid wasnt rinsed off. but mine had solids inside also.
heres JJ's thread http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=44500&highlight=bad+ferts

hey im wondering about PPM calculations for foxfarms. Can someone please remind me what the conversion from tsp:mL is? What is the typical NPK ratio in PPMs for a flowering plant? Thanks a lot guys, im just starting to use the FF and I wanna make sure I don't overfert off the bat!

hello unsure about the conversion but i think its 1tsp= 5mil but dont hold me to this :) when i was using grow big and tigerbloom i would start off @ 1/4-1/2 recomended dossage. i follow a light is right then bump them up each wk untill full dossage is required or attained, i devised a feeding plan for me during this last winter i have more then 1 strain going. sugar shack grape krush memory loss and now blueberry kush granted each has thier own feeding requirments but the way i feed they all really seem very happy. and that makes me happy and stress free about the grow :joint: and with JA's blessing's i'll continue

ahhhh stonedhizmers lol i alternate fert feeding meaning 1 plain watering the next is a fert watering, i allways add ferts to the water then take a PH reading and adjust. i water at 6.5 ph during veg and most of flower then drop to 6.3 PH, the waters PH should be between 6.0 - 6.5 for soil. dosent matter what ferts ya use if your water's PH is to high or low your gonna have problems in the grow.

also a side note i havent read mentioned l8tly city water yepper alot of citys use cloriene to sanitize the drinking water, cloriene in the water will also cause problems in the canibis garden kils plants fairly fast when not noticed. if your city uses cloriene to sanitize the water fill jugs and allow them to sit uncovered 12-24 hrs for cloriene to evaporate. smell before use i use a filtered water spout in the kitchen sink.

store the ferts in cool dark dry place not in the grow erea itself {ie} a cab or closet, if you mix extra ferts best to airate it while it's sitting. but check then PH value it will raise over a day or 2.

FF Grow Big drops waters PH value even 1/4tsp dose
FF Tiger Bloom also dose

alot of ferts drop waters PH value and why i add ferts then check and adjust as needed waters PH
