I also used ff ocean soil when I planted my seedling, and the ph was fine, how ever in aroud 3 weeks I noticed my ph levels keep rising, so I used the hydro ph down very small doses, and after I waterd everything was ok, but when they start to dry a bit the ph levels continue to rise, not sure what the fuck is going on, but if you look at my picks it diddent seem to have much effect on the , they look amazing, any thing I could have done better would be welcomed in your comments

This is exactly what I was referring to in my above post. Did you add lime to your mix? I'll bet you did. The FF nutes are somewhat low ph, but whatever it is that they put in the Ocean Forest soil prevents it from becoming acidic. I never added any lime, and my ph was money from clone to harvest. Like I said above, I have spoken with several other growers about this, and we all agreed that there is no need to add lime to Ocean Forest if you plan on using the FF line of nutes. In fact, some of these growers that I have spoken to did indeed add lime to their Ocean Forest, and actually had high ph levels. To me, all of this points to the fact that there is no need to add lime to Ocean Forest if using FF nutes. More and more, I read examples of this. kenslick, if you did add lime, I'm pretty sure that is why you are experiencing the high ph levels. For your next grow, skip the lime. I would keep checking the ph just to be sure, but I bet you won't run into problems. If you didn't add lime, I have no idea what could be causing your high ph levels. Hope this helps.

Peace

I use 2 teaspoons of big bloom and 1 teaspoon of grow big each water, seems to be working just fine on some NL I have in 3 gallon bags. Buds are looking gorgeous.

gm folks,
i just wanted to chime in here because i to use all ff products.in my experience...the ff bb and tiger will lower ph quite a bit...no need for nutes for 3 weeks..if you transplant after 3 weeks veg into bigger pots..i use ff of with a capful of superthrive in ph'd water.so..after transplant into fresh soil..no need for nutes for 2-3 weeks..when i switch to flower..i transplant into my final pots(4 gallon)a capful of superthrive and 1/3 cup ff bb and ph'd water.no nutes for 2-3 weeks then i start with 1/4 tsp ff tiger b...next regular watering..then 1 tsp of pureblend bloom.i water and use pb bloom on alternating weeks till 1-2 weeks before harvest i stop nutes and just water w/ph'd water till harvest my 2 cents

Hello all,

I don't use FF liquid ferts just OF soil.

I also use Alaska fish and EJ Bloom. As you know, the pH of these ferts are in the basement. I use 1 tbsn of D.lime/gal of soil.

I usually pH any solution I give them. I also try to anticipate my needs and bubble my mixes. Anyway, sometimes the pH of my fert solutions are well below 5 but my runoff is always 7.0. Perfect.

Yes, I know-the "ideal" pH is 6.5 but at 7 the availability of micronutes is still quite high.

My point is that you don't have to mess with it once its in the soil.

The health of your soil will also play into your pH issues. A healthy soil full of microbes and fungus and humic/fulvic acids will buffer even EJ Bloom solutions that are at a pH of 4.

Anyway, the D.lime has no negitives and serves a useful function.

Seems remiss to not use it. Sort of like an insurance policy.

Just my two duckets.

Week 3 and 4
1tsp Tiger Bloom, 1tsp Grow Big, 1tbsp Big Bloom, 1/4tsp Beastie Bloomz, 2tsp Liquid Karma

Week 5 and 6
1-2tsp Tiger Bloom, 1tbsp Big Bloom, 1/4tsp Cha Ching, 2tsp Liquid Karma

well ive got a jug of big bloom already, it sayes its not much of a NPK fert but rather a bat and worm shit stew. i know ive still got a bitch of a vegg season comeing up and my main question is about the GROW BIG, see i bought the 'hydro' version instead of the regular stuff. the diferance is a lower count on nearly all the NPK #'s but i dont know if the PH would be even more thrown off.

would anyone know what real diferances their are from the regular FF grow big and the hydroponic version? im growing in the groud OD if a bag and a half of FF ocian forest, drainage isnt great but thankfully the whole i dug wasnt through 100% clay. theirs ribons and layers of a gravel material, i just dont want anything sticking around and locking up my roots or what not.

When they didn't get their big bloom, the nugs were smaller. No explosion. A couple tablespoons per bucket for the rest of the time after the initial blast. If we didnt' use so much we wouldn't buy anymore. You get one free if you buy the big container.
