If someone took one gram of cocaine and dumped it into a 6 ton truckload of baking powder, do you have 6 tons of cocaine? Doesn't sound right to me.

Just another reason its fucked up, I think in your situation what they would look at is if you tried to pass it off for coke, ya know... you always here about you can get in trouble just for trying to pass something off for drugs, theyd probably try and say you intended to pass 6 tons of baking powder as off as coke, similiarly to how u hear about kids getting gnabbed sellin oregano lol

Actually SCOTUS has ruled on this particular issue, and the answer is yes, you have 6 tons of cocaine in the scenario above.

Don't fuck with me now, it's not my fault if the law needs make no sense whatever. Heck, when it makes no sense they even agree unanimously, go figure.

The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that prison sentences for defendants caught with LSD should be based on the combined weight of the drug and whatever substance was used to carry it. This case involved blotter paper that more than doubled the dealer's sentence.

In a unanimous opinion, the justices adhered to a 1991 ruling saying that the "weight" of the LSD includes its carrier medium and brushed aside a U.S. Sentencing Commission rule establishing a uniform presumptive weight of 0.4 milligrams for all doses of LSD, regardless of the carrier.

Actually that sounds familiar, man what a messed up thing. Does the bag and the weight of the car it's in count too? LOL

prolly depends if u use a public defender or a real lawyer lol. So what this all means is basically they want to incentivese dealers to send more potent dope hitting the streets of our community

What the report fails to mention is that even the cheapest of the thermal imagers they use are $10,000. This is also the reason you dont see any of this thermal imaging evidence in court. Cause no one is using it.

Dont be so sure about that Verite. I would link you to my local sheriffs department Air Unit that is used to Marijuana eradication, equipped with thermal imagers ;)

$10,000 isnt anything on a million dollar chopper.

Damn, thats a pretty nasty read...
I had 5-0 at my door yesterday, bit fucking scary but they were looking for someone else. We live in a time of change people, and this shit has gotta change. How can we be persecuted for growing some flowers and then drying them out?
How anyone can say they believe in God and then say that MJ should be illegal is fucking crazy. "All seed bearing plants"
Anyway, what harm do we do to warrant fucking helicopters and thermal imaging? I'm pretty sure that you guys who do grow enough to sell some, that the profits are going on candy bars and soda rather terrorism...
Enjoy your days everyone....and FUCK DA POLICE!

Fuck, they don't need shit for evidence to get a warrant. I wonder how many fish collectors have had their doors busted down for their big ass tanks...

yeah Morocoo sells it to Europeans who sell it to American's mail order at $315 - $400 USD an oz.. its basically the same price as weed lol. I used to buy it at that price and then sell it for $50 a gram, 4x-ing my investment

Youre confusing the $10K handheld units with a helicopter mounted flir for chasing living things in the night. Marijuana erradication with thermal imagers? Because they like to work at night??

You still need a warrant to point any flir device at any house. If they have a warrant for flir then you screwed up someplace else and youde be foolish to think they'll just stop if the flir doesnt reveal anything.

I went and dropped 1 drop of honey oil into the pacific ocean yesterday, so now I technically have a qaudrillion trillion gallons of hash oil, yay!. Stay out of my hash oil you surfers! The government is going to want to confiscate it all for evidence shortly anyway, lol

Sorry, possession is defined as 'having control and dominion'. Unless you are claiming control and dominion over the Pacific Ocean you just wasted a perfectly good drop of hash oil.

Man that SCOTUS decision about LSD being weighed with the blotter or whatever medium it is put on is scary. I understand that it's hard to determine the amount of LSD in micrograms when it's on a medium, but that is a cop out that is going to put people in prison for a long time.
Good thing I don't take that shit anymore...

If a cop is following around a whole bus of Hispanic people waiting for the bus to forget to signal or what not ( so he can pull them over ) we should charge the cop with 30 counts of discrimination instead of 1

For example of the 2-facedness of the law

"Daily Tech brings us a story about Sony's run-in with the Mexican police. (Billboard picked up the story as well.) It seems that they raided Sony's offices and seized 6,397 music CDs after a protest from the artist, Alejandro Fernandez. Fernandez had signed a seven-album deal with Sony Music; he completed that commitment and then left for Universal. During the time with Sony, he recorded other songs that did not make it into the agreed-upon seven albums. Sony Music took it upon themselves to collect that material and release it as an eighth album. Fernandez claims that he fulfilled his contract with Sony, and residual material belongs to him. Hmm. Precedent from the Jammie Thomas infringement and distribution case gives us $80K per song. Sony vs. Joel Tenenbaum gives $22.5K per song. So 6,397 CDs at an average of 8 songs/CD is 51,176 infringing songs, with (IMHO) intent to distribute. The damages to Fernandez should be $1,151,460,000 using the Tenenbaum precedent or $4,094,080,000 using the Thomas precedent. Seems very straightforward to me."

To save you some time, here are the search results for the word Marijuana at that site too, in case you want to read more about the enemy! http://policechiefmagazine.org/magazine/index.cfm?fuseaction=search_rs&keyword=marijuana&x=0&y=0
Great find. And you can click it occasionally, to stay current with their hopes and dreams. Simply look at the top of the page for the latest postings. For instance, below is a snippet from an Oct 2009 article about expected effects of decriminalization on police recruiting:
Today, police agencies across the United States are struggling to fill existing vacancies amid dwindling applicant pools and the lure of better jobs in the private sector. Just when the law enforcement community thought the situation could not get worse, a new foe to hiring and recruiting has emerged. Drug decriminalization and the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes will make the task of hiring qualified police candidates more difficult over the next decade.
That one choked me up :D
